    Exceptional Care and Expertise

The services provided here are outstanding, showcasing a high level of medical knowledge. Dr. Lalith Abewardane is not only extremely knowledgeable but also kind and humble. I truly appreciate his care. The staff welcomed me warmly, especially nurses Shehani, Shalani, and Neluni, who were professional and courteous throughout my experience. The entire team offered incredible support. To sum it up, my first visit was exceptional. Thank you all, and I wish you continued success.

    Disappointing Service at Nawinna Hospital

I was really let down by the service at Nawinna Hospital. The hospital's overall state leaves much to be desired and needs better upkeep. The doctors often don't show up at the scheduled times, leaving patients waiting for 3 to 4 hours without any updates. When we check with the reception about when the doctor will arrive, they can't give us any solid information, which is incredibly frustrating. I'm also worried about the quality of the medication being provided. In general, the management and service quality require significant improvement. I truly hope the hospital administration takes steps to enhance patient care and professionalism.

    Insufficient Communication from Hospital

As a paying patient, I feel entitled to updates regarding any delays and the expected waiting time. Despite my attempts to gather information, I have not received satisfactory updates, which I find unacceptable. I strongly encourage the hospital management to take swift action to resolve this issue and ensure that patients are given accurate and timely information about doctor availability and delays. Clear communication is a fundamental aspect of quality care, and I hope the hospital will take the necessary steps to improve this situation.

    Frustrating Experience at Navinna Hospital

My time at Navinna Hospital was incredibly disappointing. We called three times beforehand to check if the doctor was available, and each time we were assured he was already there. Even when we got to the hospital and asked again at the counter before paying, the staff reiterated that the doctor was present. However, after we made our payment and went to Room 65, we found out that the doctor had not arrived yet. This shows a clear issue with the staff providing misleading information. My father is not well and cannot afford to wait unnecessarily. Because of the inaccurate information, we ended up waiting a long time at the hospital, which worsened his discomfort. Additionally, the waiting area was poorly ventilated, making it tough for patients, especially the elderly, to endure long waits. This level of poor coordination, lack of communication, and neglect for patient comfort is simply unacceptable. Hospitals should prioritize care for sick and vulnerable individuals. I sincerely hope the management addresses these issues to prevent others from experiencing the same frustrations.

    Frustrating Experience with OPD Service

The service was disappointing. I visited for my daughter's vaccination, and the hospital provided two options: Consultant or OPD. I opted for OPD, but the doctor there, a lady who couldn't check the registration number, claimed she had no experience with vaccinations, despite a poster right in front of her. The hospital didn't offer an alternative way to proceed, so I ended up consulting another doctor and got the vaccination. It seems they might be hiring less experienced graduates for the OPD service.

Poor experience with long wait times

We brought our 2-year-old son to this hospital with a fever since all the private hospitals in Kurunegala were full. The positives: The hospital wasn't too crowded, and the AC room we were given was quite spacious. The staff were generally friendly. The negatives: The hospital is quite old, and the cleanliness, particularly in the washrooms, did not meet expectations. Although the staff were friendly, some exhibited unprofessional and careless behavior. The main issue: Our pediatrician cleared our child to go home at 11:00 AM because he was doing well. However, it took the hospital until 4:45 PM to finalize the bill. Even with insurance, we didn't leave until 5:45 PM. What was most distressing was that our son had a cannula in his arm the whole time. He was trying to play and continually attempted to pull it out. Subjecting a toddler to the discomfort of a cannula for nearly 7 extra hours due to slow paperwork is extremely unprofessional and unacceptable. I cannot recommend this hospital due to their severe negligence in the discharge and billing process.

    Frustrating Experience at Nawinna Hospital

I am incredibly let down by the careless service at Nawinna Hospital in Kurunegala. We scheduled an appointment with Dr. Keerthi Weerawaradhana and were clearly given Appointment Number 1. Since we had the first slot, we made sure to arrive punctually, expecting a smooth consultation. However, we were shocked to learn that the doctor was on leave when we arrived. Neither the hospital management nor the staff bothered to notify us in advance via text or call. If a doctor is unavailable, it’s the hospital’s basic duty to inform the patients, especially those who arrive early with the first appointments. Leaving patients in the dark shows a total lack of professionalism and courtesy. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you value your time and expect dependable service. It's a complete mismanagement! Additionally, I'm very dissatisfied with the total absence of management at Nawinna Hospital. I was the first to arrive and handed over my clinic book to show my recent reports to the doctor. However, the nurse near Room 74A refused to take it at that moment and told me to wait. Instead of following a proper order, she kept allowing other patients to check their reports before me. I ended up waiting for over an hour and a half because of this blatant favoritism and poor coordination. Management needs to ensure that the staff outside Room 74A is held accountable for this complete disregard for patient fairness and time.

    Clean and Comfortable Stay

This property may be older, but it’s well taken care of, offering a tidy and cozy atmosphere. The rooms are spacious and clean, each featuring an attached bathroom. Although meals aren’t offered for in-house patients, they do serve complimentary tea twice daily. Additionally, a 5L bottle of drinking water was provided in our room. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always available to help. Both visiting and resident doctors deliver dedicated care, showing great attention to the needs of the patients. There’s plenty of parking space available, which is convenient for guests.

Avoid this hospital at all costs

This hospital is extremely disappointing. The rooms are filthy. I wouldn't even consider coming back here. The general hospital is superior to this one. I cannot recommend this place.

    Extremely disappointing hospital experience

This is hands down the worst hospital I've ever been to. The rooms are filthy, and the bathrooms are in awful shape, always giving off a terrible smell. It’s evident that the management is neglecting the upkeep of the facility. They seem more interested in collecting money from patients than in ensuring a clean and safe environment. I returned here after 20 years for my grandmother’s treatment, and honestly, nothing has changed—if anything, it’s only gotten worse. The rooms appear outdated, poorly cared for, and unsanitary. The fan hardly works and only has one speed, making the room uncomfortable. Even the curtains seem like they haven't been cleaned in ages. There's a strong unpleasant odor, especially when you open the bathroom door, which makes the stay even more unbearable. It’s shocking to witness such poor conditions in one of Kurunegala's oldest hospitals. It used to be much better, but now it feels entirely neglected. We only chose this place because our doctor performs surgeries here; otherwise, I would have never opted for this hospital. I'm very disappointed with the overall experience and wouldn’t recommend anyone to get admitted here unless absolutely necessary.
