Mixed feelings about the doctor's communication
The doctor was adequate, but I wasn’t fond of how he communicated with the patient. To give some background, we scheduled an appointment for my mother, who is over 50 and has been experiencing ongoing periods for weeks, along with rising levels of the tumor marker CA125. Doctors in Singapore advised us to monitor this, as it could indicate ovarian cancer. Personally, I appreciate when doctors listen attentively and then explain things patiently to address the patient’s concerns. However, this doctor interrupted my mother while she was trying to express herself and seemed to imply that her concerns were unfounded, suggesting that her tests were unnecessary. He did provide explanations, but he frequently cut her off, which made my mother visibly tense and reluctant to share more details. I didn’t prompt her to continue since I didn’t like how the doctor rushed her and spoke to her as if she should already know everything, treating her concerns as a waste of his time. I’ve seen many positive reviews about him online, so I assume he might be a good doctor for pregnant women. However, if you’re considering him for reasons other than pregnancy, it might be better to find a physician who is more patient and can help patients leave feeling relieved rather than dismissed. I hope this review is helpful.
