    Authentic Sri Lankan Buffet Delight

The chef prepares all the food from scratch! It’s fantastic; I’ve sampled a lot of Sri Lankan cuisine during my trip, but this place stands out as the best! The flavors are incredibly genuine, allowing you to truly savor the ingredients. I’ve tasted everything from the buffet and enjoyed each dish. I highly recommend dining here! Another satisfied customer ✨✨

    Delicious meal in Galle

Recently, my husband and I enjoyed a fantastic meal here. We ordered mutton curry, rice, and dahl, and everything was incredibly tasty. If you find yourself in Galle, I highly recommend this place—the owner and staff were wonderful. Don't miss out on the homemade ginger beer!

    Good food, service needs work

The food was tasty, but the service left something to be desired. It feels more like a student pub, making it less appealing for a prolonged visit.

    Overhyped but lacks flavor

The food didn't live up to the Instagram buzz this restaurant has generated. We tried the seafood kottu and crab curry; the kottu was bland and had hardly any seafood, while the crab curry was overly sweet. On the bright side, I really enjoyed the yellow rice. Despite being the only customers there, it was uncomfortably hot since the place lacks air conditioning, which is puzzling given that Galle is warm all year round. Moreover, the coconut milkshake and watermelon juice were excessively sweet. Overall, I would suggest skipping this place during your visit to Galle.

    Outstanding Sri Lankan Cuisine

Without a doubt, the best Sri Lankan meal I’ve had in the past week. Chef Ifu had us raving about a simple daal and sambol. The prawn curry combined with turmeric rice was bursting with flavor. The ginger beer was incredibly refreshing, particularly on a warm day. This spot is definitely worth a visit!

    Food Poisoning Ruined Experience

While the food was enjoyable, I unfortunately experienced food poisoning after eating a chicken dish. One of my travel companions took just two bites and is also feeling ill. I consumed the entire dish, and now I'm feeling extremely unwell.

    Disappointing Sri Lankan Experience

I had a really letdown experience at Coconut Sambol in Galle Fort. The food didn’t feel like genuine Sri Lankan cuisine at all — it honestly lacked the authentic flavors I was hoping for. The juices were excessively sweet and not refreshing whatsoever.
