    Dr. Amila de Alwis is a fantastic doctor, and the team at Child Eye is truly remarkable. I can hardly express how thankful I am for the kindness and warmth they provide to their patients. When I was brought into the theatre, I didn't feel nervous at all, thanks to their caring approach and reassurance. I'm very appreciative of the excellent treatment and support I received.

    Kids' Eye Care Needs Improvements

    This place is specifically geared toward children, and there are plenty of doctors available. However, I have some concerns. The patient management system is quite lacking. Both kids and their parents often end up waiting for hours, as they assign large numbers but can only accommodate a few on weekends. An eye check-up for a child requires two rounds and takes about 2-3 hours per visit, totaling around 5-6 hours for the entire process. While it is a kid-friendly environment, I wish they would limit the number of patients instead of taking in everyone. Additionally, the hospital charges are approximately Rs 1850, which seems quite steep for a facility that has been converted from a house into a children's eye care unit. Parking is very limited, but access to the location is relatively easy.

    Dr. Irugalbandara is an incredibly sweet, kind, and professional doctor who took the time to answer all my questions and provided great reassurance. The staff were also very polite and helpful. I highly recommend this clinic and Dr. Irugalbandara!

    Tedious process at children's hospital

    Although the staff is friendly and polite, the entire experience is quite cumbersome. Even considering it's a "children's" hospital, the process feels excessively long and complicated. They understandably request that you arrive an hour early for vision tests and possible dilation, but the indoor area is overcrowded and the outdoor space is uncomfortably hot. This setup is far from ideal for entertaining a small child. There's a lengthy wait for the vision test, and by the time everything is finished, you're looking at around 3 hours for the whole procedure. The system definitely needs to improve its efficiency.

    I had the pleasure of consulting with Dr. Mrs. Irugalbandara, who is a remarkably kind, caring, and highly experienced doctor. She took the time to explain my child's condition in a clear and patient manner, which really boosted our confidence and eased our worries. I also want to extend a heartfelt thanks to her assistant, Ms. Nisanthi, who worked tirelessly to keep my one-year-old calm and comfortable during the check-up. From the security staff to the receptionists, and all the doctors, every staff member was incredibly kind, helpful, and welcoming.
