    Great atmosphere, terrible sushi

    I’d give 5 stars for the atmosphere and the service, but the food deserves only 1 star! The sushi was absolutely the worst I’ve ever had—no words can describe it. I can confidently say I’ll never order sushi again after this experience. It was my first and last time trying it. On a brighter note, the cheesy tuna melt was decent; I really enjoyed both the taste and texture. I’m torn about recommending this place. I’d love to sample other dishes, but the sushi really left a bad impression, making me hesitant to return.

    Unique Dining at Cafe Nihonbashi

    Cafe Nihonbashi offered a distinctive experience. I enjoyed the Lime soda tea and Okonomiyaki paired with onigiri, all of which were well made – I definitely recommend it. My friend sampled the Milkshake and Seafood tempura Bento, which were also served nicely. However, I do have some constructive feedback; the place seemed seriously understaffed, and the two servers struggled even with a small crowd. While the seating was pleasant, we encountered some occasional flies, raising concerns about cleanliness. Nonetheless, I suggest giving this place a try as it was quite a unique experience, especially in Kandy.

    Exceptional Service and Great Food

    I typically don’t write reviews unless a place truly impresses me, but our dinner last night was outstanding! The food was a solid 8 out of 10, but our waiter Amri provided service that was a perfect 10. From the moment we entered, he was incredibly attentive, friendly, and consistently checked in to ensure we had everything we needed. Even later in the evening, the other staff members were very welcoming as well. Amri is genuinely one of the best waiters I’ve encountered, both in Sri Lanka and abroad, always smiling and exceptionally helpful. I will definitely return!
