Incredible Safari Experience at Yala

Our safari at Yala National Park was absolutely incredible! Our driver, Raimu, was fantastic and managed to spot numerous animals that we would have otherwise overlooked. We were lucky enough to see a leopard, many elephants, and a variety of other stunning wildlife! Although we had heard that Yala can get crowded, Raimu was very considerate of the animals and took us off the usual paths to steer clear of the crowds. There are also alternative gates if you want to avoid the busiest one (gate 1)! It was a day we will never forget. We highly recommend this experience!

Fantastic Yala Safari Experience

Our safari tour in Yala block 1 was excellent! The driver arrived promptly to pick us up and dropped us off right at our hotel. Our guide was dedicated to helping us spot wildlife, and he managed to find us two leopards to see! All in all, it was an incredible experience at a great price.

Great effort for a leopard sighting

Even though it wasn't the best day for spotting the famous leopards, the driver put in a lot of genuine effort to find a pair lounging at a distance among other safari-goers. I will definitely reach out to Yala Safari for another jungle tour on my next visit.

Wildlife Tour with Major Concerns

This tour left me with mixed feelings. On the positive side, we spotted all the animals we hoped to see, including leopards, elephants, bears, and many more. The driver was quite skilled at positioning the vehicle. However, there were significant negatives as well. We were taken aback by the reckless driving as the drivers raced to get to the leopards, reaching maximum speeds, overtaking each other, and disturbing other animals along the way. It was unlike anything we’ve experienced in previous safaris. Once we arrived, we found ourselves amidst around ten other cars vying for the best view. Additionally, I was surprised that there was no actual guide provided. The driver was merely supposed to fill that role but offered very little information. While we did see plenty of animals, we didn’t learn much at all. I believe these issues could be addressed relatively easily if the national park implemented proper training for the drivers and enforced the rules more strictly. There’s a speed limit of 35 km/h that the drivers blatantly ignore. I wouldn’t recommend this company based on our experience, but it seems that many drivers operate similarly. It might be better to seek out a responsible tour operator and inquire about these concerns.
