We really enjoyed our time diving with the boss. They looked after us both in and out of the water, and everyone was really friendly. Afterward, they even treated us to tea and cake. Just a heads up, the boat doesn't have a sunroof, so make sure to bring sun protection.

This is a very professional operation. Our snorkeling trip with four people was guided by Susantha, who joined us in the water to point out various fish. I also did a double dive—one at a wreck site and the other at an underwater museum. While the dives weren’t known for large fish, there was still plenty to see, including a school of big barracudas and a giant grouper at the wreck. The tea and snacks afterward were a lovely addition. I thoroughly enjoyed both trips with them.

More than 20 years ago, I tried diving in Germany, but then life took over, and I completely forgot about it. I honestly never imagined I would dive again. However, my trip to Sri Lanka changed everything. Here, I not only resumed diving but also fell in love with it all over again. I completed my Open Water course at the Ruhunu Diving Center in Tangalle, and right from the start, I felt well cared for. The training was in English, but that posed no issues for me. I particularly valued the opportunity to finish the entire e-learning course and exam in German. After such a long hiatus from diving, this really boosted my confidence and eased my return to the sport. The morning dives were captivating each time. Everything was calm, well-structured, and organized. The underwater scenery left a lasting impression on me, though I must admit I can't compare it to other dive locations due to my limited experience. Regardless, what I witnessed was simply breathtaking. After finishing my Open Water course, it became clear that I wanted more. So, I immediately enrolled in the Advanced Open Water course, and I haven't regretted that decision for a moment. A standout experience was the deep dive to 26 meters, where we investigated a wreck. The visibility was remarkable, and the sensation of floating at that depth while gazing at the wreck was beyond words. It was intense, serene, respectful, and profoundly impressive—exactly the kind of moments that make diving worthwhile. One aspect that impressed me was the equipment's consistently excellent and well-maintained condition. Everything functioned perfectly; nothing seemed improvised or worn. In a country like Sri Lanka, this is not something to be taken for granted, but it was clearly evident here. You can immediately feel the strong Western influence at the Ruhunu Diving Center regarding organization, safety, and structure. In summary, I was thoroughly satisfied on all fronts—professionally, personally, and organizationally. The Ruhunu Diving Center not only helped me return to diving but also opened up an entirely new dimension for me. I can genuinely recommend this dive center to both beginners and those looking to dive again after a long break. For me, it marked the start of a new passion—underwater.

This is an excellent diving base in Tangalle that we wholeheartedly recommend! From the start, the staff greeted us with warmth and were incredibly helpful, attending to every detail. The equipment was top-notch, thoroughly checked, and the facility was tidy and well-organized. We truly felt taken care of – the briefing was calm, precise, and professional, which made our dive completely stress-free and comfortable. Unfortunately, we only had one day to dive – we explored a wreck and a nearby reef – and honestly, we wish we had done more! The overall atmosphere of the place is another major highlight. After our dive, we enjoyed a tasty Sri Lankan lunch along with some soothing ginger tea – it was the ideal way to wrap up our day. If we ever return to Sri Lanka, we will absolutely stay here again. 💙
