This spa has merged with the Mango spa. While the masseuse demonstrated an effective and unique technique, the massage room is in desperate need of cleaning and repairs. It felt musty and mouldy, and there was no music playing. They truly need to refresh the facilities.

Upon arriving in Kandy on December 8th, my wife and I went to Suwa Asapuwa. The service we received was outstanding. We enjoyed a top-notch Ayurvedic massage, and I truly appreciate this establishment for that.

We visited the Suwa Asapuwa Spa for massages, booking for three people at once. The owner was very quick to respond via message and managed to set us up with an appointment for the same evening. Just ten minutes before, I received the address, which turned out to be at the Mango Spa since the two had merged. He arrived a bit late, but that was fine; we just waited. However, the third person had to wait an additional 30 minutes after the couple's session began. We were understanding, and he even offered my father-in-law some tea while he waited. My husband and I went to a communal room for our massages. The facilities felt outdated, and the massage tables were uncomfortable. There was no face hole for lying face down, nor a cushion for under the knees when lying on our backs. We had booked three one-hour full-body massages. My masseuse started with my legs, while my husband’s masseur arrived two minutes later, introduced himself, and asked about any pain or preferences for the massage—very professional. He began by massaging my husband while seated, focusing on his head, shoulders, and back before moving to the table. My husband's practitioner was attentive and engaged, whereas my masseuse seemed robotic in her approach. I mentioned that my calves were tight from climbing Adam's Peak two days earlier and Sigiriya that morning, but her technique felt lackluster as she simply applied oil without addressing the issue. I requested more pressure on my back multiple times, and while I noticed a slight difference for a moment, it didn't last. She didn’t spend enough time on my back, shoulders, and head, even though I had the most tension there. When we shifted to my back, things went downhill: she focused on my legs instead. I struggled to find a comfortable position, and her lack of attention left me feeling tense. When she moved to my arms, I bent my knees and asked for breaks. I couldn't relax at all; usually, I'm quite receptive, but this time I was just eager for it to end. Eventually, my husband's masseur, who was nearby, asked if I was okay and suggested we find someone else. In summary, it was the worst massage I’ve ever had. I left feeling even more tense and sore. My husband and father-in-law, however, had the best massage experience in Sri Lanka. Ultimately, the quality of the massage seems to vary greatly based on the practitioner; I would recommend requesting male therapists. Some definitely need proper training, as my husband, who is an electrician, gives me much better massages.

On the other hand, my husband and father-in-law had what they described as the best massage in Sri Lanka. It seems this spa's quality heavily relies on the individual masseur (I'd recommend asking for male therapists). Not all are of the same caliber, and some could really use more training (my husband, an electrician, gives me far better massages).
