Exceptional stay with great service

My family and I spent two nights at this hotel, and our experience was outstanding from beginning to end. The location is fantastic, surrounded by lush greenery and calming views. The hotel’s ambiance is inviting and well-kept, which added to our relaxation. The food quality was impressive, with satisfying portion sizes. However, what really made a difference was the service. The staff were consistently attentive, friendly, and professional in every area, from the reception to the kitchen. Their commitment made our stay smooth and enjoyable.

A Homey Stay in a Beautiful Setting

This hotel offers a comforting atmosphere that makes you reluctant to leave after your visit. Everything was just right during our stay. The rooms were aesthetically pleasing and the location was stunning, nestled in a forest reserve where the sounds of nature surrounded us. The staff were exceptionally friendly—I truly mean it; everyone from the housekeeping staff to the waitress and the receptionist was genuinely pleasant. The hotel is adorned with numerous antiques, adding a unique touch to the experience. The food was delicious, with generous portion sizes that pleasantly surprised us, as we initially expected smaller servings, especially given the high quality. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our time here, and we look forward to returning in the future.

Charming stay in nature's embrace

My husband and I had the pleasure of spending a night at Aayu Hanthana. The place is truly remarkable with its unique antique decor and stunning views of the lush Dunumadala Forest Reserve. The staff are exceptionally friendly, and I want to extend a special thanks to Mr. Sisith, who handled our reservation. He was very easy to communicate with and quite flexible. I'm looking forward to returning with my friends.

Service shines despite serious issues

Upon our arrival, we were taken to one of the downstairs rooms, which had such a strong mildew smell that it made breathing difficult. We also found mold on the bathroom ceiling. We were puzzled by the excessive outside noise until we realized a pane of glass was missing from our window. After these unpleasant experiences, we raised our concerns and were moved to a different room. While this one was an improvement, it still didn't provide good value for the price. There was a musty odor in the new room as well, neither room felt truly clean, and we had a leaking toilet drain. Breakfast was consistently limited, mainly featuring fruit and cold cuts, almost as if they were trying to avoid giving us too much. The pool also appeared to be quite dirty. Though the location is lovely, it's quite far from Kandy. The only bright spot was the service staff, who were consistently helpful and friendly. Given these issues, I can't recommend this accommodation. The value for money is unacceptable. To make matters worse, it appears there have been past instances where similar lower rooms were offered, with the same room we had being presented as an alternative. This suggests that they are aware of the problems in the lower rooms but continue to offer them, which is unacceptable, especially since mold poses health risks.

Outdated accommodation with good staff

This place is really in need of updates. We were assigned a room that had several windows missing. The bedside table was broken, and there were cobwebs everywhere, making it feel quite unclean overall. It doesn't provide good value for the money. The rooms also had a musty odor. To make matters worse, we were pressured to pay the bill right away without even checking the rooms first, which is totally unacceptable! Additionally, I can't understand why there’s no refrigerator in the rooms at this price. The breakfast is quite minimal... very disappointing. On the bright side, the staff were very accommodating.

Lovely experience at Aayu Hanthana

I had a wonderful time at Aayu Hanthana with their day out package. The staff were really friendly and made us feel welcome, and the interior was distinct and beautifully designed. The atmosphere was calm and peaceful, which made it an ideal place to relax and unwind. The lunch was enjoyable, although there’s room for some improvement. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and a nice escape from the daily hustle.
