Pleasant wedding reception experience

I attended a wedding reception at Waters Edge Banquet Hall, and it was a very nice experience overall. The atmosphere was elegant and well-kept, providing a wonderful backdrop for a memorable occasion. The food was mostly delicious and nicely presented. However, the biryani rice was a little too oily for my taste compared to what I usually expect. Other than that, everything else was enjoyable, making it a lovely venue for a wedding.

Disappointing High Tea at Waters Edge

I want to share my disappointment with the high tea buffet at Waters Edge. When we arrived, we were seated at a table for two close to the buffet. The sofa-style seating was nice, but the area was uncomfortably hot, making us sweat. It seemed like the air conditioning wasn't working properly in that section. During our second serving, I noticed a different hall behind a door where the air conditioning was functioning perfectly. I asked the staff member who had seated us if that area required a special reservation. He told me it was usually reserved for larger groups, but after I mentioned how hot it was, he checked for availability and moved us. To my surprise, there were plenty of empty seats in that hall. I don’t understand why these weren't offered to us initially. Customers should at least have the option to choose between being near the buffet or in a cooler room. Unfortunately, the food quality was the biggest disappointment. It felt like the standards have dropped significantly; even the basic "short eats" were lackluster. For example, the samosa, which is typically a reliable option, was just a thick ball of dough. Moreover, there was a noticeable difference between what is promoted in YouTube reviews and what we were served. Many reviews showcased a wide array of items, like tiramisu and various cheesecakes, yet these were either missing or low quality during our visit. This inconsistency makes me question if a better selection is only available during promotional events or filming. Additionally, the lawn and overall surroundings were not as well-kept as during my previous visits a few years back. The general maintenance of the property felt noticeably lacking. While the location and views of the lake are still beautiful, the overall experience did not meet my expectations. Considering Waters Edge's reputation, the food quality, seating arrangements, and maintenance were quite disappointing. I hope management takes steps to improve consistency and quality for future guests.

Exceptional Hospitality at Waters Edge

I rate Waters Edge and its management as the best in hospitality I've encountered so far. Having visited most hotels and experienced their services multiple times, I can confidently say that Waters Edge stands out from the rest. My husband's birthday was a truly special and unforgettable occasion. The surprise we organized was made even more remarkable thanks to the warm hospitality we received. I want to express my gratitude to Tharanga for his exceptional cooperation and support during the planning stages. His friendly demeanor and thoughtful gestures played a significant role in making our time at Long Bar so memorable. Additionally, I appreciate everyone at Long Bar, from the welcoming staff at the entrance to the entire team and upper management, all of whom displayed professionalism and kindness. I am genuinely thankful to all of you for your commitment to making our day so wonderful. Continue the fantastic work; it’s a true blessing to experience such heartfelt service. Lovely Birthday High Tea Experience

Today, my friend and I had a fantastic time at Water's Edge. We enjoyed high tea, and the food was delightful—definitely worth every penny. Since it was my birthday, they even surprised me with a cake and a birthday wish! I will always remember this day! A huge thank you to the team, especially Naveen from Pranzo restaurant, for making our evening so special and memorable. He was incredibly kind, friendly, and attentive to all our needs. We promised to return, so hopefully, it won't be long!

Disappointing High Tea Experience

I had the worst experience at the high tea buffet in a Sri Lankan hotel. We decided to visit after being impressed by YouTube videos from Sri Lankan influencers, but now I suspect those were paid promotions. The selection was average and not particularly tasty, although the sushi was decent. The main issue was the service, which was very disappointing. Tables weren't cleared quickly, leaving finished dishes piled up, and the same was true for empty glasses. They were slow to refill items, and with a large crowd, we had to wait several minutes for some food. In the last 45 minutes, they didn't refill beverages at all, which was quite frustrating. Our biggest letdown came when we celebrated my friend's birthday. I had mentioned the celebration during the reservation and was told they would provide a complimentary cake. I reiterated this the day before our visit, and they confirmed it. However, when we arrived around 4 PM, we heard the saxophonist playing birthday songs for other tables while ours was overlooked. I approached the manager, who noted our situation and apologized, saying they would arrange it shortly. We waited until 5:45 PM, but nothing happened. Before leaving, I spoke to the manager again, who just acknowledged that we still hadn’t received the cake. I felt extremely dissatisfied, and our celebration was ruined by the hotel's poor staff service. I advise that if you have a celebration in mind, this place isn't worth your time.

Exceptional Experience at Cinnamon Bey

We're currently at Cinnamon Bey Beruwala for a wedding tomorrow, and our experience has been absolutely delightful from the start. The hotel has a stunning atmosphere, well-organized and ideal for a special event like a wedding. What stood out the most was the exceptional staff, particularly the Security Manager and the whole security team. They were not only helpful and professional but also very friendly, ensuring we felt safe and comfortable during our stay. Their generosity and assistance truly enhanced our experience.
