We were very let down by our experience at this property and had to leave a day early because the conditions felt unsafe, particularly with an infant in tow. The air conditioning in the room was completely insufficient for the size, leaving it uncomfortably hot. The lone fan provided wasn’t even aimed at the beds, making it useless for a good night’s sleep. Even more concerning were the significant hygiene and health issues we encountered. We discovered spiders on both beds, which is completely unacceptable in any lodging, especially with a baby. Clean, pest-free sleeping conditions should be a standard, not a luxury. Additionally, there was water leaking from the AC directly onto the gas stove, creating a serious safety risk. It’s a dangerous situation waiting to happen. To add to the problem, the gas stove and the surrounding kitchen area were visibly dirty and poorly maintained. We have clear evidence showing the state of the place. Throughout our stay, the bathroom had a strong sewage odor and was not kept to a hygienic standard. The unpleasant smell and lack of cleanliness made it very uncomfortable to use. Due to the extreme heat, unsanitary conditions, and various safety hazards, we felt our child was not safe here and had no choice but to leave early for alternative accommodations. Health, safety, and basic cleanliness should never be compromised. Sadly, this stay was far below acceptable standards, and we cannot recommend this property.

The staff were really welcoming, and the place was pleasant, complete with a pool. Everything was satisfactory. Close to Finch, there are local eateries and a quiet red beach that's not crowded. It takes just 6 minutes by tuk-tuk to reach the center of Tangalle. Thanks for everything!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Finch, even deciding to extend our visit by two additional nights! Rooms: After a room switch, we experienced two different accommodations, and both were quite satisfactory! The downstairs villa is spacious, and the refrigerator is quite large (we opted not to use the kitchen). The bed tends to be on the firmer side, yet it remains comfortable. The air conditioning could be stronger for such a sizable room, so we adjusted it to a cooler setting than we typically would. Location: The setting is wonderfully private and peaceful, surrounded by lush trees and well-kept grounds! Red Beach and several dining options are just a short walk away. Service: There was always someone available on-site, providing us with a reliable contact. We even had the convenience of doing our laundry there. The pool is kept in immaculate condition and is cleaned every morning. The only aspect that could use some improvement is the breakfast, which is available for separate booking. We only sampled it on our first morning, and it didn't particularly stand out (we had a smoothie bowl with beetroot and a Sri Lankan breakfast).
