Price Increase for Bungalow

We’ve been there before, and the cost for a bungalow without air conditioning used to be 6,000 rupees. Now, the same bungalow is priced at 20,000 rupees, which feels too steep for me.

Mixed feelings about the stay

We spent one night here due to a change in our plans after exploring the central area. The hotel's location is fantastic – I highly recommend visiting the lovely Gajambokka beach nearby. While there's also Pearl Beach on the property, swimming there isn't enjoyable because of the rocky terrain. We were assigned a ground-floor room, which we found quite disappointing. It seemed to have been treated with insecticide before our arrival, causing my husband to cough for quite a while. We also encountered insects in the room for the first time during our week on the island. The room really needs some renovations: the walls are peeling, the sink faucet is hard to operate, the pillows are uncomfortable and should be replaced, the hanger is rusted, and the panoramic windows could use a good cleaning. On the bright side, there was hot water available, and a mosquito net was provided for the bed. The staff was friendly; we requested a hairdryer, and the next day they allowed us to leave our bags with them while we visited the nearby Gojambokka beach, which is only a two-minute walk away. However, we weren't informed about the breakfast schedule, which started at 8 a.m. We found out only afterward, and even at that time, they were just beginning to prepare it, meaning we had to wait an additional hour for it to be served. The hotel features a spacious garden, and you can expect to wake up to the sounds of peacocks in the morning. Their private beach offers loungers and leather cushions for relaxing in the shade and swimming. We’re puzzled by the hotel's 4-star rating, as it didn't meet our expectations. It's okay for a night or two, but I wouldn't suggest a longer stay.

Beautiful views and warm hospitality

The sea view is breathtaking, and the garden is large and well-kept. The rooms are both cozy and spacious. The staff are genuinely kind and made us feel like part of the family. We will surely return on our next trip to Tangalle!
