    Mixed feelings about the hotel experience

    It's unfortunate that there's a construction site right in front of the hotel, making it quite noisy and not ideal for swimming or enjoying breakfast. I sent my clothes out for washing, but they returned with a terrible smell, and one of my t-shirts even had stains. The rooms are decent, and each morning we were treated to the sight of two toucans outside our window, which was a lovely experience. The hotel staff were friendly.

    Queens Beach Hotel in Tangalle is a genuine coastal gem. With its beautiful beachfront setting, the hotel's friendly atmosphere and attentive staff ensured my stay was truly memorable. The well-furnished rooms and breathtaking ocean views provided an ideal spot for relaxation.     Great hotel with minor issues

    This new hotel has a fantastic pool and is situated in a prime location. However, being so new, it seems to miss some finer details. I had reserved a double room but ended up with two beds pushed together. The rooms weren’t serviced daily, and they only accepted cash, which was inconvenient.

    Comfortable stay with a lovely view

    This hotel isn’t right on the beach; it sits on the land side, separated from the shoreline by a main road. If beachfront access is what you’re after, this might not be your best option. However, we were in a first-floor room and really enjoyed the stunning sea view. We reserved a triple room that was cozy, although the bathroom felt a bit cramped. If you’re tall, it could be a good idea to check the bathroom measurements in advance. We stayed for two nights with our two little kids, who are 3 years old. The room had a kitchen with all the essentials, including a sizable refrigerator, which made meal prep easy. We didn’t have the opportunity to use the swimming pool on-site, though. The Sri Lankan breakfast was a highlight for us, and the staff were exceptionally accommodating. They even generously offered to keep our fish in their refrigerator until we left. Overall, this is a really nice hotel with fair prices.

    Honesty Earns High Praise

    I didn't actually stay at the hotel because there's an unfinished building obstructing the sea view, which really impacts the overall experience. I feel bad for the owner since this situation is obviously out of his control — someone constructed it right in front of his property. Nonetheless, I'm giving the hotel a 5★ rating because I inquired about this before making my reservation, and the owner was completely upfront about the view. His honesty and transparency warrant the highest score.
