This fantastic restaurant is managed by a Sri Lankan husband and his Kiwi wife. The food is outstanding, particularly the deviled tuna and chicken. The kitchen is modern, western-style, and spotlessly clean. The staff members are very attentive and welcoming.

Serenity Beach Cabanas offers a fantastic vantage point for watching the sunset over the water while sipping a drink on the veranda. The cheerful owners, Ali and Kapila, run a well-stocked bar featuring some delightful imported wines. The staff at Serenity are attentive, with friendly waiters Nimesh and Ashan providing enthusiastic service that makes everything feel effortless. Chef Gamini shines in the kitchen, crafting a wonderful array of Sri Lankan dishes for us, despite our vegetarian preferences and allergies, making our dining experiences for both dinner and breakfast truly enjoyable. The atmosphere is both comfortable and picturesque. Guests can opt for tables right by the beach, surrounded by open skies and coconut palms (which is incredibly romantic!), or sit on the restaurant's veranda. Sunbeds are also available for relaxation. I can’t wait to come back and recommend anyone visiting Tangalle to stop by Serenity Cabanas. You might even get lucky and meet their endearing, three-legged resident dog. A few weeks later, we returned to Serenity and were pleased to see that even with a few staffing changes, the quality of both food and service remained consistently great. It was wonderful to reconnect with Ali, Kapila, Nimesh, and Ashan once more.

This hotel is fantastic, featuring wonderful staff and an ideal location. It's right on the beach and just a five-minute stroll to the lively streets filled with markets and more. Relaxation is a breeze here. I highly recommend it!

I absolutely enjoyed my time here; the room was quite lovely and impeccably clean. Additionally, everyone on the staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the location right by the beach is fantastic. I would definitely recommend it, even though it's pricier than some other options in the area.

We spent six nights at this amazing place right by the beach. The cabana was nicely furnished with a spacious bed, air conditioning, outlets equipped with adaptors, a safe, and a fridge. Breakfast was excellent, offering a variety of choices.

I had a truly delightful experience here—Ali and Kapila were incredibly friendly and attentive. My mum was eager to try Wattalapam, a traditional Sri Lankan dessert, which wasn't on the menu. They went above and beyond by visiting three local shops to find it for her. The cabanas are nestled in a peaceful section of the beach, making it an ideal spot for relaxation, yet it's just a short walk from the lively town. The included breakfast was also tasty! I highly recommend this place.
