    Comfortable stay with helpful staff

    We had a great time during our stay. The rooms are cozy and equipped with powerful air conditioning. The common areas are pleasant as well. The staff, including the owner, really went above and beyond to assist us with everything we needed, even bringing hot water to our door for our instant coffee 😆. There's a restaurant and bar on-site, plus it's just a short walk to various local amenities, all within 5 minutes. The beach is stunning. Although we were there during a storm and couldn't surf, there are board rentals available right on the beach. We would definitely return when the surfing conditions are better.

    Lovely stay with a few downsides

    This is a great spot, though I’m giving it 4 stars mainly because the restaurant is really expensive, making it less of an option. Breakfast could also use some improvement. Other than that, it’s very nice. It’s just a minute from the beach, the rooms are clean, and they have AC and a fan. The shower has strong water pressure with reliable hot water, plus there’s a free pool table and a rooftop to watch the waves. The staff is very friendly. I’d definitely return, especially since the waves in Matara are consistent and there are no crowds.

    Disappointing stay despite great location

    The hotel is ideally situated right across from the beach, but sadly, there’s no direct access to it. The rooms are quite small and lack any sea views. More troubling was the visible mould and unpleasant odor in the room, which made my stay uncomfortable. Considering what I paid, there are definitely better options nearby. I felt let down when I noticed other accommodations in the area offering superior rooms for the same or even lower prices. It seems you're mostly paying for the location, which isn’t particularly remarkable given the absence of views. I also found it odd that full payment was required upfront. To add to my frustrations, the bathroom flush wasn’t working properly. While I was grateful to leave my luggage in the lobby after checking out, I was later asked to take it away even though I had planned to leave in the afternoon, which didn’t feel very accommodating. In the end, the experience didn’t match the cost.

    Great budget stay with stunning views

    I stayed here with four friends, and the location is fantastic. The staff and owner are incredibly friendly and accommodating. They’ve just opened and are putting in a lot of effort to enhance the facilities. The restaurant and the rooftop with a sea view were outstanding! It was also fun to have a pool table available. Overall, this is a really excellent budget option in the town!

    Great stay at Surf Dine Hotel

    I had a pleasant experience at Surf Dine Hotel. The room was tidy, cozy, and equipped with everything necessary. The service was excellent. Suranga was both friendly and accommodating, which made my stay enjoyable and stress-free. In summary, it’s a solid place to stay with a lovely atmosphere and great service. I would definitely return!

    Wonderful stay with friendly staff

    I spent two nights here and had a fantastic time. The welcoming staff made us feel right at home. The hotel is conveniently located near the beach, giving us an authentic beach experience. The rooms were cozy and very reasonably priced. The food was tasty and consistently served at just the right temperature. The staff were well-trained and incredibly friendly, which really enhanced our stay. One of the highlights of the hotel was the pool table area — we had a blast there! I would definitely come back if I have the opportunity to stay in the southern area again. Thanks for offering such great value for money!
