    Confusing Payment Policy

We reserved this place for eight nights but ended up leaving after just one. Our first concern arose when the owner insisted we pay in cash, claiming his card machine was out of order. Given that we were booked for a full week, this left us quite puzzled.

    Charming Hotel with Character

We came back for a second visit this year and enjoyed it just as much as our initial stay in 2016. This charming and unique small hotel features several refurbished old village houses, adorned with antique furniture and a ...

    Charming setting but room issues

The pool and garden are beautiful, and the staff is friendly. However, the room had an unpleasant cave-like smell and was extremely humid. It was quite basic, lacking a kettle, hairdryer, and WiFi, which was advertised but only available in the lobby and around the pool. The breakfast was excellent.

    Charming Beachfront Retreat

In August 2023, I had a delightful stay at Turtle Evo Beach Dune Resort. Being the only guest during low season made my experience feel especially tranquil and personal. The resort's location is excellent—right on the beach with direct ocean access. The currents were strong, but swimming was enjoyable and refreshing. I loved jogging along the beach road each morning, surrounded by picturesque homes and small resorts. My room was well-appointed with everything I needed, though it was a bit humid. The air conditioning made it comfortable. There were quite a few mosquitoes, but keeping the doors closed helped manage that. The semi-outdoor bathroom was a standout feature—beautiful and natural, despite the slightly rusted metal taps, which is understandable given the salty air. Breakfast was consistently good, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The garden and rooms could benefit from a bit more upkeep, but I get that it was low season. Next door is The Doctor’s House, a fantastic spot with delicious food and a great atmosphere. Just a heads up, it can get a bit noisy late at night if you’re sensitive to sound. Overall, Turtle Evo Beach Dune Resort is a lovely, relaxing destination in southern Sri Lanka. I highly recommend it for anyone seeking a peaceful beachfront getaway with charm. The area is also perfect for walking or jogging, featuring light traffic and lovely views.

Positive Experience at Turtle Eco Beach

I'm not sure how it happened, but a review from "me" rated this place just 1 star, and that was even before I had a chance to visit. The owner checked in to see if I was happy, and I told him that the place is fantastic. That's when he showed me the misleading review. This one is a much more accurate reflection of my experience. If I find myself back in Mirissa, I will definitely choose to stay at Turtle Eco Beach again.

    Charming beachside retreat

This lovely oasis near the beach offers spacious and tidy rooms. The hosts are extremely friendly and accommodating. The pool is unique—long and somewhat narrow—but really enjoyable for swimming. I would definitely recommend it!

    Mixed experience with high prices

My stay was somewhat of a mixed bag. It felt a bit pricey for what was offered, though I suppose the location and pool play a role in that. The place didn't match the photos; it appeared more worn than they depicted. We booked 2 x Standard Double rooms…

Great location, but rooms need attention

Turtle Echo Beach Resort boasts a fantastic location, which is definitely its standout feature. Nestled in a lively area, the beach is right across from the property, making it easy to enjoy the sea, beach strolls, sunsets, and local activities. However, given the price, the stay felt a bit overpriced for what was provided. The rooms seemed outdated, and some of the in-room amenities were not functioning correctly, which impacted overall comfort. Additionally, the absence of Wi-Fi in the rooms was a drawback that could be inconvenient for guests. In summary, while the resort shines due to its vibrant surroundings and close beach access, enhancements in room upkeep, amenities, and pricing would significantly improve the overall guest experience.
