Before making our reservation, we visited the accommodation and were immediately impressed, leading us to book a 6-night stay. This place truly has character. It’s just a 10-second walk from our room to the beach, and there are sunbeds available on the serene, stunning beach. Every morning, we enjoyed breakfast right on the beach. The owners were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The waves are perfect for beginner surfers, and if you're looking for something beyond just the white waves, you can find those about 5 minutes away in front of the Marriott. We had an amazing time in Sri Lanka and would definitely return to this spot again.

We enjoyed four fantastic days at this place! The highlight was its beachfront location, which offered surf lessons, allowing us to wake up and dive right into the waves. Our hosts were friendly and welcoming, always ensuring we had everything we needed. The food was delicious, and they even arranged a trip for us to Yala National Park, which was an incredible experience. If you want a great blend of relaxation, adventure, and excellent hospitality, this is the spot for you!

Relax Beach Resort was much more than just a place to stay; it became the highlight of our holiday on Sri Lanka's southern coast. Situated right on the beach, this hidden gem offers a warm, homely vibe that instantly made us feel settled and tranquil. The rooms were spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed for comfort, providing enough space to unwind without feeling cluttered, while still being cozy enough to feel like home. Watching the sunset over the sea just steps from our door was a memory we'll cherish forever. However, what truly elevated our experience was Roshan, our host and the resort owner. A quiet and philosophical individual, Roshan cared for us in ways that transcended typical hospitality. Whether it was arranging tuk-tuks at any hour, organizing whale watching tours, snorkeling with sea turtles, private surfing lessons, or coordinating a day trip to Galle, he managed everything with calm efficiency and genuine concern. Roshan's attentive nature and peaceful presence added a depth to our stay that we hadn’t expected. Thanks to him and the ambiance at Relax Beach Resort, our journey became far more meaningful and rewarding than we ever envisioned. If you’re searching for more than just a getaway – if you want a place to reconnect with nature, unwind, and soak in the beauty of the Indian Ocean – look no further than this resort.

This place is in terrible shape. The room had a persistent sewage odor, and the bathroom walls were covered in mold. There was no cleaning done at all, and the towels were old and had a bad smell. The number of mosquitoes and flies was excessive, indicating clear hygiene concerns. The building is still incomplete. The top floor is under construction, so guests have to deal with constant construction noise. It feels unsafe and uncomfortable, almost like being on a construction site. Payments are cash only. Overall, the property is poorly maintained, noisy, and unhygienic. It lacks comfort and peace, and the beach location does not make up for the overall negative experience.

We had a fantastic time at Relax Beach Resort and truly cherished every moment. The resort is right on the beach, which is stunning and very safe for kids. It’s a place where you can unwind while the little ones play freely. We went surfing directly from the beach and savored fresh king coconuts while lounging in the sand — it really captures the perfect island atmosphere. The resort is managed by a local family who are exceptionally kind, welcoming, and appreciative. Their hospitality feels sincere and heartfelt, making you feel right at home. Everything here exudes a relaxed, personal, and authentic vibe. It’s an ideal location for families, particularly if you’re traveling with children and want to take in the beach, nature, and the warm hospitality of Sri Lanka. We would gladly return and highly recommend Relax Beach Resort to anyone heading to Weligama.

The location by the ocean doesn’t make up for the dirtiness and the owner's lack of care. There’s no internet, and the rooms have a terrible smell. The street feels unsafe, and you constantly feel like you’re waiting for trouble from tuk-tuks. The ocean resembles a puddle, and the beach is extremely dirty.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was impeccably clean, beautifully kept, and situated in a fantastic location with a private beach. Our room was tidy, cozy, and well-maintained. The host was exceptionally friendly and attentive, which made our experience smooth and enjoyable. They can arrange activities like whale watching, fishing tours, and diving or snorkeling at very reasonable rates, so there's no need to search for a travel agency. We felt comfortable and well looked after during our entire stay. I highly recommend this spot for anyone seeking a relaxing and enjoyable experience.
