I stayed in two of the three rooms, and both were quite comfortable. One of the rooms lacks air conditioning, but that wasn't a problem for me—the fan did a good job. The place is generally clean, but if you expect "a mint on the pillow," this isn't the spot for you. Tharaka was one of the best hosts I've encountered; he was incredibly willing to assist with anything I needed and often went out of his way to help, not for tips, but simply out of kindness! Just be respectful, and he’ll return the courtesy. Overall, considering the room rates, it's a fantastic option, and whether you're traveling solo or as a couple, I doubt you'll be let down unless you're overly particular.

This is the perfect spot to relax, featuring outstanding hospitality. It's conveniently located within walking distance from Kumbalgama Junction and Kumbalgama Station. We arrived by train and received a warm welcome. Looking forward to visiting again soon!

I had a fantastic stay! The owner and his family were incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to assist me. When I arrived feeling a bit under the weather, the owner provided extra blankets and even prepared a ginger infusion for me. Their hospitality truly exceeded my expectations! I also rented a bike at a great price. The kitchen is well-equipped with all the essentials for cooking your own meals. Plus, there's a stunning, peaceful beach just a 10-minute walk from the homestay. The room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. I highly recommend this place to anyone! I will definitely return! 🥹

We discovered this place while looking for a spot for one night but ended up enjoying it for eight nights. Nestled in a peaceful alley, it's just a ten-minute stroll to the stunning Tharaga beach. The owner is currently constructing lovely rooms atop his family home, and since we visited during the off-season, it was quite tranquil. Our room was excellent: a nice bathroom, effective AC, a comfortable bed with a good mosquito net, and a pleasant terrace. A beautiful tapestry of flowers cascades over the house, providing both privacy and shade. If you, like us, appreciate having your own kitchen and prefer to support Sri Lankan families instead of foreign businesses, and you don't mind sacrificing a sea view for some seclusion, this is the place for you. The price is very reasonable for the quality offered, and you can use the family's washer for laundry. Tharaga is genuinely kind, always eager to help, and easy to converse with. He also has a small scooter and bike rental service, making it convenient to explore the area. The location sits between Welligama beach and Midigama beach, allowing you to enjoy the benefits of both without the hustle and bustle of overly touristy spots. You find yourself in a more peaceful middle ground. Oh, and the WiFi works really well. I would definitely recommend this place! Thanks, Tharaga, and best of luck!
