Disappointing Consultation Experience

My husband had a very unsatisfactory experience during our appointment with Dr. Devika Suraweera. The doctor maintained a noticeable distance from him and prescribed medication without a proper examination of his condition. The lack of a thorough physical assessment before issuing the prescription was quite alarming. What troubled us the most was her demeanor and communication style. She was quite dismissive and disrespectful throughout the appointment. It felt as though she didn’t listen to our concerns and spoke in a manner that came across as rude and unprofessional. As patients, we expect doctors to be compassionate, approachable, and respectful, especially when we’re anxious about our health. Sadly, this experience fell short of those expectations. We paid Rs. 3,500 for the consultation and left feeling very disappointed and unheard. Given our experience, we cannot recommend her services.

Frustrating Experience with Hospital Service

I want to share my extreme disappointment with the service I encountered today. I went to the hospital to get an echocardiogram for my father, and upon arrival, we were met with a long line. After waiting for over an hour, we were only informed after seeing the doctor, Dr. Thilina Jayasekara, that the echocardiogram machine was out of service due to an update. This is simply unacceptable. Patients should be made aware of such important issues before being made to wait in long lines and pay consultation fees. Because of this lack of communication, we ended up wasting both our time and money. To make matters worse, we were told we would have to pay the channeling fee again to see the doctor later. This shows a serious lack of accountability and thoughtfulness towards patients. The reception staff seemed completely unaware of the situation and were unable to provide accurate or helpful information. Moreover, the nursing staff appeared inexperienced and unprofessional. Given this experience, I have lost all trust in this hospital. I will not return for any future services, nor will I recommend it to my family, friends, or anyone else.

Crowded but with good doctors

The channeling center tends to be quite busy in the evenings. They have specialist doctors on hand, and the consultation fee is LKR 3,700. On the downside, parking is a significant issue. Additionally, three-wheelers are often parked right by the main entrance, causing inconvenience for patients. It's important to keep this area clear and well-managed, as easy access is crucial for those arriving and leaving. Relocating these three-wheelers would enhance convenience and safety for everyone.

Safety Concerns at Osro Hospital

This is a serious safety issue. My mother went to pick up a medical report from Osro Hospital in Kegalle on October 11, 2025, and she slipped and fell on the floor due to poor maintenance. This isn't the first incident in my family. My cousin sister had a terrible experience; she slipped and fractured her leg. Additionally, my sister-in-law fell during her pregnancy consultation in the hospital's passage area and narrowly avoided serious injury. My mother required treatment and surgery, costing around 200,000 Rs. The hospital refused to accept card payments, stating that if they did, there would be an additional 3% charge for the patient. This seems unfair. During my visit, I consulted Dr. Devika Sudarshani (Dermatologist), but the consultation felt rushed. The doctor didn't ask follow-up questions or conduct thorough checks. There seemed to be a lack of empathy or respect. There was a distance of 5-7 meters between us, and she wore a mask, which suggested an ongoing fear of COVID. I urge the In-Charge to consider this matter seriously. When consulting with a capable doctor like Dr. M.D.P. Jayasuriya in Kegalle, you often feel a sense of relief and trust. A good doctor listens attentively, explains things well, and makes you feel secure in their care.

Exceptional Care at OSRO Private Hospital

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to OSRO Private Hospital for the outstanding care they provided for me and my baby. The staff were incredible—extremely helpful, kind, and reassuring. During times of fear and panic, having such compassionate individuals truly makes a difference. A special shout-out to midwife Mrs. Wimalaratne Manike, whose care extended well beyond her responsibilities—she genuinely cared from the heart. I'm also profoundly thankful to VOG Dr. Anura Samarakoon, SHC Dr. Mahesh, SA Dr. C. Manamperi (CA), and the whole team who supported me through the C-section. You all were lifesavers, and your dedication will always be remembered. I highly recommend OSRO Private Hospital for their exceptional care and support.
