Horrible experience with cleanliness and service

We were startled awake at 3 AM by a huge cockroach on our face and bed. With nowhere else to go, we stayed up until morning to leave. When we spoke to the landlord about the incident, he claimed he had never encountered cockroaches before and suggested it entered through an open door. We pointed out the gaps in the window as the issue, but he dismissed that explanation. When we refused to pay, he began shouting and threatening us, saying that he could do as he pleased since we were on his property. THE PLACE IS NOT CLEAN. It's filthy, and our room had a foul smell with mold. The pathway to the beach is littered with trash, and they don’t bother to clean it.

Great stay near a serene beach

This place is situated just 50-100 meters from a beautifully tranquil beach, making it an ideal spot to unwind and enjoy life. Susee is a fantastic host, and the breakfast is outstanding, with a different menu each day. Our room was spacious, tidy, and comfortable. Although the apartments are near the road, which means you can hear passing vehicles, it didn’t really bother us. However, the noisy ventilator in our room was a bit of an issue. Still, I’d give it 5 stars—thank you, Susee!

Wonderful stay with great hospitality

We only had one night in this fantastic place, which was unfortunate. Susee is an excellent host who truly cares about his guests' experience. He goes above and beyond to ensure everyone has a memorable stay. The rooms are wonderful and the breakfast is outstanding!

Great spot in Bentota

This is one of the top places in Bentota. The owners are fantastic, the breakfast is great, and we enjoyed a nearly private beach! It's hard to want anything more!

Friendly host and great beach experience

Susee is an incredibly friendly and accommodating host. When I arrived, he greeted me with a glass of freshly made juice that was among the tastiest I’ve ever had. I thought he called it “root apple,” but since I couldn't find anything online, I'll just refer to it as “Susee juice.” It was exceptional! He then showed me his beautiful stretch of beach and mentioned that right next door is the most expensive 5-star hotel in Bentota, so we essentially enjoy the same stunning views for a fraction of the cost. The room I stayed in was pleasant, and the bed was very comfortable. There was a mosquito net and a wardrobe, though I didn’t need either. The air conditioning maintained a pleasant temperature, while the high-speed ceiling fan actually made me a bit too cool at night, prompting me to switch it off. Each morning, I was treated to a fresh breakfast at the time I chose, which included plenty of fresh fruit, pancakes (more like rolled crepes from my perspective), savory pastry puffs akin to egg rolls, and fresh coffee or tea. Susee also offers dinner for a small fee, which I enjoyed both nights I was there. On the first night, I had a salad followed by a generous serving of freshly barbecued prawns, rice, and curry. The second night featured kuthi (not sure about the spelling) — a delightful dish of stir-fried egg noodles with mushrooms and meats that had a nice kick. If you’re sensitive to spice, you might want to steer clear of that one. Susee even arranged free transport for my excursion and booked a fantastic riverboat safari. I had a close encounter with crocodiles, snakes, water monitors, and various birds. We even made a stop at the boatman’s friend’s place where I got to hold and take pictures with a baby crocodile. They’re so cute! I trusted Susee’s choice of river guide, and he definitely delivered; this guy had an incredible ability to spot green tree snakes and baby crocodiles that I would have missed entirely. Later, Susee is driving me to the airport, which isn’t a short trip, and he’s charging a very reasonable price for that. If you’re looking for a clean, cozy, and affordable place with a serene beach, delicious breakfast and dinner options, plus a host who genuinely cares about your experience, Susee’s Villas is the place to be!

Wonderful Stay with Exceptional Hospitality

Staying at Susee's has truly been a privilege; he is such a gentleman. His villa was just right for us, and we felt like royalty—nothing was too much trouble for Susee and his family. We initially planned to stay for just two nights but extended our visit to five because of the incredible hospitality he provided. The food surpassed what you'd expect from a five-star restaurant, and the beach was beautiful, with clean sand and warm waters. Having lived there all his life, Susee is well-respected and possesses a wealth of knowledge about Sri Lanka. He can assist you with anything from suggesting attractions to arranging river tours, shopping trips, and airport transfers. If you stay here, you’ll be in excellent hands in paradise.

Fantastic stay at Susee Villa

Our experience at Susee Villa was incredible! Susee was the best host we've encountered during our three weeks in Sri Lanka. He assisted us with planning our trips and transportation. Each morning, his daughters prepared a wonderful breakfast, offering us something different each day. It became one of our favorite meals throughout our stay! Plus, we enjoyed a juice and a snack in the afternoon as well. The location is great, featuring a private beach and being just a short distance from the city center. We would love to return! Great beachfront stay in Sri Lanka

I had a fantastic experience at Susee Villa, a beachfront accommodation near Bentota in Sri Lanka. The breakfast offered a variety of fresh and tasty options, and the rooms were impeccably clean and cozy. The owner, Susee, is exceptionally kind and accommodating, always willing to help with any inquiries or arrangements. He even drove me to the airport for a very reasonable fee.
