My husband and I recently enjoyed a dinner outing in Beruwala, and we had a fantastic experience at Tippy Tay. The food was incredibly tasty, and the restaurant itself is beautiful and inviting. The highlight of the evening was the gorgeous view of Beruwala Island and the lighthouse. With its lovely atmosphere, excellent food, and stunning scenery, it was truly a memorable night. I highly recommend it!

This is a fantastic spot for a laid-back day or evening by the ocean. The food is decent, and the atmosphere is incredibly tranquil. However, it can feel a bit expensive considering the setting, and the selection of food and drinks is somewhat limited. I’d give it a perfect 10/10 just for the view.

I really appreciated the ambiance of the restaurant; it was both aesthetic and tranquil. We ordered chicken noodles, seafood noodles, battered prawns, and a chicken tartare burger. However, the portions for the noodle dishes were on the smaller side, and the battered prawn dish had only about 10-12 prawns. Additionally, the wait time was excessive; the takeaway items took over 40 minutes to prepare, while the dine-in orders were served quickly. The lady who attended us was somewhat friendly, but the other staff members were not very welcoming. A major drawback was that they did not offer us water, forcing us to buy a bottle for 250 LKR, despite the marked price being 100 LKR. I also noticed that the kitchen appeared quite unclean. Overall, I felt this restaurant did not justify its pricing and I wouldn’t recommend it.

We just happened to drop in and were truly impressed by this place. It’s a simple cafe that offers absolutely breathtaking views of the Beruwela Lighthouse and the nearby island. The sunset was simply stunning. The service was top-notch—friendly, helpful, and incredibly professional. They paid great attention to detail and were always available to assist. The food was fantastic—full of flavor and delicious! It was definitely the highlight of our trip. Everything—the food, the drinks, the sunset, and the service—was five-star! I will surely return! A big thank you to everyone at Tippy Tay! ☺️
