    Terrible Experience at Colombo Hospital

    I went to Colombo over the weekend because my daughter had a fractured arm. Unfortunately, the doctors informed me that there was no one available to operate the X-ray machine, and the head doctor was absent. They suggested that I admit my daughter and wait until the weekend was over for treatment, which I found ridiculous. I ended up taking her to Lady Ridgeway hospital, where she was treated immediately without any hassle. While the hospital is expanding with new buildings, it seems pointless if they can't properly care for patients. They might as well shut it down and repurpose the land for something more useful.

    Poor treatment and lack of empathy

    I cannot recommend this hospital at all. The nurses seem ill-equipped to treat patients effectively. Today, one of our employees injured their finger while operating a machine, and it was an urgent situation. When the doctor suggested we go to the OPD for treatment, we were met with a long wait. Our team kindly asked those in line if we could skip ahead for the injured person, but once we got in, a nurse callously ordered the patient to leave, saying "oyata wadaa adhisiya kattiya innawa metana," which showed no empathy or sense of urgency. I urge everyone to avoid this hospital.

    Outstanding Service at the Dental Clinic

    The service at the dental clinic is top-notch. The entire team is very supportive and well-organized. If you arrive early in the morning, you can get your work done swiftly. Before handing out the tokens, a nurse delivered an informative speech about dental health issues. She was a kind and pleasant woman who truly spoke from the heart. I genuinely appreciate her dedication.

    Terrible experience at this hospital

    This is one of the worst hospitals in Sri Lanka. It lacks facilities and is overcrowded. The doctors, nurses, and security guards are extremely rude, arrogant, and inhumane. They treat patients very poorly and are so disrespectful. I only hope they experience the same treatment someday when they need to visit a hospital for care.

    Clean clinic with kind staff

    The dental clinic is well-maintained and tidy. The junior staff members are professional and organized, offering assistance to patients with genuine kindness. Service is prompt, though the doctor did arrive later than expected.

    Poor service at O.P.D. front counter

    What’s the point of having two female attendants at the O.P.D. front counter if they can't provide the information people need? When I asked a question, they just told me to go see a doctor to find out! After waiting in a long line, I finally met with the doctor, who told me I shouldn’t have come there and directed me to another place instead. It would be great if they could hire some knowledgeable staff for relevant areas.

    Seating Issues at the Clinic

    There still needs to be a designated seating area for patients during clinic hours. It was terrible... I recorded a video on the clinic date today, March 3, 2026. Patients were left standing while plenty of seats were available on the other side, yet they weren’t prioritized for the clinic attendees. It's disappointing that the authorities are oblivious to this situation.

    Serious misconduct during vaccination event

    On May 12, 2021, I witnessed some of the most unethical practices during the COVID vaccination process. The medical officer in charge of administering the second dose of AstraZeneca claimed that they had run out of vaccines, yet it was later discovered that he was giving out hidden doses in a secret room, likely for personal gain. When individuals who were supposed to receive their vaccines surged into the room, he fled with the remaining doses. While many hospital staff claimed ignorance, it was clear that the entire staff, including the matron in the upstairs offices, was aware of the situation. The Kiribathgoda police arrived at the scene but merely dispersed the crowd, stating it was obstructing their duties, without taking any known action against the offender.

    Exceptional Care in Pediatric Ward

    My baby was admitted to the pediatric ward due to a fever and spent around 5 days there. It was a very peaceful environment, almost like home. The consultant and her staff were incredibly friendly, resembling the care you would expect at a private hospital. Thank you so much for your thoughtful and kind service.

    Disappointing hospital experience

    I had a terrible experience at Kiribathgoda Hospital. My sister was suffering from a high fever, but they conducted an incorrect blood test that failed to identify her illness. On top of that, the medication they provided was damaged and crumbled into powder when we touched it. This is extremely unsafe and shows a lack of care.
