Great hospital in Puttalam district

Chilaw General Hospital serves as the primary medical facility in the Puttalam district. It's situated approximately 500 meters from the main bus station in Chilaw, right across from Chilaw Ananda National School. The doctors and staff are truly dedicated to their work. There is also a designated parking area available outside the hospital.

Poor treatment and care

I really hesitate to even refer to this place as a hospital. I went there three times for a headache, and I ended up being diagnosed with depression. For an entire week, they only provided me with paracetamol. Then, they discharged me with medications meant for lung conditions. I discovered this and stopped taking them, thanks to the pharmacist. Are they just trying to fill the mortuary with patients?

Exceptional Care and Service at Chilaw Hospital

My mother and I underwent two surgeries in the ENT ward 07, both performed by Doctor Rizy Sakkaf, a renowned surgeon who has received a presidential award and is well-regarded in Sri Lanka and internationally for his exceptional skills. Unlike typical general hospitals, our experience at Chilaw Hospital was excellent. During our two-day stay, they provided us with good meals, which I even photographed. I want to give special recognition to the ENT ward and the nursing staff, who were incredibly friendly, caring, and offered a warm welcome. They were understanding and never aggressive, treating us like family. Additionally, the toilets in ENT ward 07 were impressively clean and well-maintained, with no unpleasant odors, as they consistently mopped the floors and cleaned the beds.
