Comprehensive services but parking issues
This is the largest government hospital serving the Puttalam town area. It offers most of the necessary facilities, with the Eye and ENT departments operating quite well. The staff are friendly, but it's mostly required to communicate in Sinhala. Finding a suitable parking spot is a challenge. Additionally, COVID protocols must be adhered to inside the premises.

Comprehensive Free Hospital Services
The Base Hospital offers a variety of specialist services at no charge, including Medicine, Surgery, Gyn/Obs, Paediatrics, Anaesthesia, and Radiology, along with in-ward care and regular clinics. Additionally, there are visiting consultants for Cardiology and Psychiatry. The hospital also provides X-Ray and Ultrasound facilities on-site.

Exceptional Government Hospital Experience
This is one of the finest government hospitals I've encountered in Sri Lanka. We arrived at around 9:30 pm to get a rabies vaccine and were admitted until 11:45 p.m. The staff were caring and prompt. Both the doctor and the staff were readily available throughout the night. Their service surpasses that of private hospitals. I'm really pleased with this level of government service. ❤️💐💐💐
