    Run down but with potential

    Unfortunately, the place is too worn out and noisy to recommend. The large gardens, which used to be a highlight, are now in poor condition but could be revitalized. The sound insulation between the rooms is lacking, and it seems the decor has been overlooked for many years. Given the tough times for hospitality in SL, one would think that some paint and basic shower maintenance wouldn't be too much to ask. For the price, it feels like a poor value.

    Charming stay with great breakfast

    The accommodation has a lovely colonial style and is situated in a less touristy part of Puttalam. My room was spotless and equipped with air conditioning and a mosquito net. I even received extra beds upon request. The resort provides a traditional breakfast along with a menu from a nearby eatery called The Bistro, which was fantastic. We enjoyed our two-day stay and suggest checking out the western beaches, roughly an hour away by tuk-tuk.

    Great stay with friendly service

    We enjoyed a pleasant stay in a spacious room that had air conditioning. The staff was very welcoming, even stepping out to town to fetch us breakfast. Later, the owner came by for a friendly chat, asking if we had a good night and if there was anything they could enhance. I would definitely go back!

    Beautiful Outdoors, Poorly Maintained Rooms

    The venue features a beautiful green landscape and a peaceful atmosphere. However, the accommodations leave much to be desired. The rooms are not well kept at all—there's dust everywhere, and I could hear mice scurrying on the roof. The bathroom showers are covered in moss... I can't recommend it for staying overnight, unless you're just looking to hang out and party in the outdoor area.

    Helpful staff and serene atmosphere

    The staff here are friendly and incredibly helpful; if you're feeling lazy, they'll even drive down to get food for you, which is amazing. It's a peaceful spot where you can see peacocks, lizards, squirrels, and sunbirds—truly a lovely place. I would definitely recommend it.

    Beautiful property but needs maintenance

    We spent one night at this property, which is situated in a decent location—not too far from Main Street, but not exactly close either. The property itself is quite lovely and in a quiet area. Unfortunately, the rooms left much to be desired as they were not well-kept and appeared dirty, almost as if they hadn't been spring-cleaned in ages, as shown in the photos. Additionally, the room had an unpleasant smell and lacked proper ventilation; the fan was also ineffective. Considering the price, it felt overpriced. The kitchen didn’t seem hygienic either. While the owner was friendly, the other aspects didn’t meet expectations. I think we could have found a better place.

    Mixed experience with room and noise

    I made a reservation at this place over the phone, and they initially gave me a reasonable price. However, when I arrived, I found that the room was smaller than I had anticipated, and I had to switch to a different room that came at a higher cost. The location is quite a distance from the town, and at night, the absence of street lights makes it challenging to navigate. The room I stayed in was spacious but in need of some upkeep, as there was only one staff member managing the entire property. The biggest problem I encountered was the barking dogs on the premises, particularly around midnight. The noise disrupted my sleep, and I strongly suggest the owners consider putting up a barrier to separate the dogs from the guest rooms. This place might work well for families reserving multiple rooms, but it can feel rather unsettling when just one or two rooms are occupied and there’s minimal staff present.

    Convenient Stay Before Willpattu Visit

    This is a decent spot to rest before your trip to Willpattu National Park. The accommodations are quite simple but serve their purpose for a night or two. The staff were friendly and ensured we were up and prepared for our tour the following day.

    Charming yet noisy spot

    I made a reservation here on April 5th. The place has an old Bangalore vibe, but they’ve updated it nicely. While it can get a bit noisy, it still feels like a quiet spot where you won’t be disturbed. It’s good value for your money. However, the customer service fell short of my expectations, and the kitchen could have used a better cleaning as well.

    Mixed experience with the room

    We spent one night in the pricier room because it offered a TV. Unfortunately, we found out that the TV didn’t work at all. Additionally, there was no hot water, although we were assured we would have some. The evening staff member was unaware of this issue but did offer to help…
