I spent the night in a private room because of a dengue infection. The staff was incredibly supportive, and I felt well looked after. The lab results were returned promptly, taking about 2-3 hours, and the doctors were skilled.

The procedure was done swiftly. However, since it involved a child, the approach taken was not entirely suitable, as it adhered to standards meant for adults. The hygiene was satisfactory. I wouldn't recommend it for children without reservations.

Our visit to Rangiri Hospital was outstanding, and I highly recommend it, especially for travelers who find themselves needing medical attention in Sri Lanka. While on holiday in Sigiriya, my girlfriend developed a painful skin abscess on her upper outer buttock that had been getting worse over several days. After contacting the hospital, we were advised to come in for an assessment. The doctor examined her and determined that incision and drainage were necessary. The entire experience was excellent from beginning to end. The hospital was fully staffed even on a national holiday, we faced virtually no waiting time, and everyone treated us with great care, professionalism, and kindness. What stood out to us was that, as foreign tourists, we never felt anyone was trying to take advantage of our situation. The total cost was very reasonable, about 5,000 LKR for the examination and the procedure. We also received clear instructions regarding medication, wound care, and what steps to take in the days ahead. We were traveling with our young child, and the staff were incredibly accommodating. Several team members were very kind and showed interest in him, helping to keep him entertained while we focused on the procedure. With professional staff, excellent medical care, reasonable pricing, no waiting time, and a genuinely friendly atmosphere, it was a reassuring experience when far from home and in need of unexpected medical treatment. I highly recommend this hospital.

This place is incredibly ineffective, with staff that seem like a bunch of kids just goofing off instead of working. The processes are excruciatingly slow; if you have a serious medical issue, you might find yourself in real danger due to their lack of urgency. I visited the outpatient department for a fungal infection. The doctor, though kind, prescribed me a pile of medications, including antifungals, antibacterials, steroids, antacids, painkillers, anti-inflammatories, and who knows what else. It's common knowledge that you shouldn't mix these treatments. Applying antibacterial and steroid creams on a fungal infection can make it worse. Moreover, the antifungal medicine requires an acidic environment to be effective, so I can't fathom why they would give me antacid medication that would counteract it. If I had taken all those medications without prior consultation, my skin would likely be in serious trouble now. Please be careful; you’re dealing with real people and their lives.

I visited a doctor because I suspected I was in the early stages of pregnancy and was experiencing some spotting while traveling through Sri Lanka. Given my medical history, the doctor claimed it was impossible and dismissed me without any medical assistance. The environment felt very much like a third-world setting—dirty and unsterile—and the doctor seemed uneducated. Later, in Kandy, my pregnancy was confirmed, I received proper care, an ultrasound was conducted, and I was prescribed progesterone to support the pregnancy.
