Disappointing Smoothie Bowls
The iced latte and cappuccino were decent, but the smoothie bowls fell short. They didn't taste as good as they looked, with an excess of yogurt and not enough fruit.

Good coffee, average sandwich
The coffee here was quite nice, and the staff were very friendly. I ordered a sandwich that was just okay—nothing remarkable. The smoothie bowls seemed like a better option. Overall, I would suggest stopping by mainly for the coffee. We spent 6700 for three drinks and two meals, which seemed a bit expensive.

Great service for a large group
We showed up unexpectedly with a large group of 23, and even though the staff was busy cleaning, they made an effort to serve us right away. It's hard to find freshly ground coffee in this part of Sri Lanka, but here it was absolutely spot on. A big thank you for helping 23 tired Hungarians get energized before visiting the ancient city of Anuradhapura!

Top-notch coffee experience
Without a doubt, the finest coffee in Sri Lanka! I'm not certain what beans they use, but the flavor is smooth and satisfying, and the latte art is stunning! The food was also enjoyable and reasonably priced!

Hidden Gem with Great Coffee
This place is an incredible find. The coffee we've had here is the best on our journey, and their fresh juice is equally delightful. It's a wonderful spot to relax after a day filled with walking and climbing at Mihintale.

Great spot for breakfast or lunch
This is a peaceful spot in Anuradhapura for breakfast or lunch. The chicken toast and yogurt with fruit were both excellent. While it took a little while for the food to be ready, the garden setting is lovely. The staff was very welcoming! I would definitely recommend visiting this place!

Disappointing breakfast experience
During our stay at the Ivy Lake, we visited the Hudo Lounge for breakfast. I want to point out that the accommodation itself was reasonably priced. Unfortunately, our breakfast experience was a letdown. The porridge was just oatmeal served with cold milk and a few pieces of fruit, priced at 1,500, which felt completely over the top. The Granola Bowl was similarly overpriced. On top of that, there was a 10% service charge, making our breakfast cost nearly as much as our accommodation for the night. Based on this experience, I can't recommend their breakfast.

Exceptional Dining Experience at Hudo Lounge
Hudo Lounge in Anuradhapura is a fantastic cafe/restaurant that truly surpassed my expectations. The food was top-notch — featuring fresh ingredients and beautifully arranged dishes. They offer a range of meals from local Sri Lankan favorites to international options. The portion sizes were ample, and everything tasted freshly prepared. The restaurant boasts a charming atmosphere — modern yet cozy, with comfortable seating and a laid-back vibe. It’s the perfect spot to relax after a day of exploring or to enjoy a meal with friends. The attention to detail in both decor and cleanliness enhances the overall experience. What really made an impression, however, was the service. The staff were genuinely friendly, attentive without being overbearing, and clearly took pride in their work. They made us feel very welcome and well cared for from beginning to end. In summary, Hudo Lounge is undoubtedly one of the top dining locations in Anuradhapura — fantastic food, wonderful ambiance, and outstanding service. Highly recommended.

Fantastic spot with great atmosphere
We visited this place three times, enjoying drinks and food while waiting for our train back to Colombo. The staff were wonderful, and the vibe was very relaxed. There’s a fantastic selection of food. Just a note that the opening time is 8 AM instead of 7:30, but the staff accommodated us since we had an early tour. It offered excellent value and a lovely atmosphere with various seating options.
