    Amazing breakfast spot in Trinco

This is a fantastic place situated conveniently on the main street, featuring a lovely atmosphere and welcoming staff! I enjoyed the French mango toast along with a lassi for breakfast, and it was incredible! If I had more time in Trinco, I would certainly come back!

    Delicious food and friendly service

We had our first meal here right after we arrived, and we loved it so much that we returned the next day for breakfast. The service was prompt, their hours were accurate (which is rare for breakfast places), and the food was amazing. The devil chicken was the best we experienced on our entire trip, and the prawns were simply heavenly. The staff here are extremely friendly and communicate in English very well. Additionally, the option to pay by card is a nice bonus!

    Hidden Gem in Trincomalee

We discovered this fantastic restaurant on our final day in Trincomalee. We enjoyed a delightful granola bowl and some iced coffees! It was the only spot where we could find mangos in April, during the off season! I would definitely recommend it. I just wish we had found it earlier in our trip to try dinner!

    Disappointing experience with high prices

My visit here did not meet the high expectations set by the ratings. Overall, it was a rather average experience, and surprisingly pricey for what we received. The ambiance was lacking. We were seated in a part of the restaurant where the fans weren't working, making it quite warm. To make matters worse, that area was infested with flies that kept landing on our plates. In terms of food, the basics were acceptable—the sunny-side-up eggs were fine, and the omelettes were good. However, the rest of the meal didn't impress. I ordered a tuna panini that came out half burnt. While the filling had good flavor, my first bite was dominated by the bitter taste of the char. The owner had also highly recommended the deep-fried chicken for my child, saying it was "like KFC," but it turned out to be quite average. When I mentioned to the staff that the panini was burnt and bitter, the waiter quickly took it away and discarded it without asking. Since my food was gone and I was still hungry, I asked him to make a new one. When the bill arrived, I was charged for both paninis. After I pointed out that I shouldn’t be charged for a burnt sandwich they discarded, they offered a 500 LKR "discount" on the 1,900 LKR item—meaning I still ended up paying more for just one edible sandwich. With so many great dining options available in the area, there are certainly better cafes around that provide higher quality, better service, and overall more value.

    Best Fried Rice in Trincomalee

🍚 This was our first restaurant in Trincomalee, and it truly raised the bar for the rest of our trip! 🥰 We tried the vegetarian fried rice, devilled prawn rice, and chicken fried rice, and the fried rice was INCREDIBLE! We requested it spicy, and the owner generously provided us with a spicy chilli paste that was SO GOOD! 🌶️ We cleaned our plates completely. 😂 The chef was off that day, but the 'Anneh' (brother) took on all the tasks—cooking, cleaning, serving—doing everything quickly and efficiently while being so friendly, kind, and attentive. They even customized our orders, which we really appreciated. The shop is undergoing some nighttime renovations, and there’s a mini mart next door, adding to the convenience. After spending 8 days in Trincomalee, I can confidently declare… this was the BEST vegetarian fried rice (with egg) we enjoyed! 🥰🍚❤️ With simple food, generous portions, excellent service, and such a lovely person at the helm, this spot is one we’ll fondly remember!
