Disappointing Experience at Lavan

I visited Lavan two years ago when it was under different management, and it was fantastic. However, I returned in January 2025 after discussing everything beforehand. After we settled the bill, they informed us that we had not been charged for pool services, which were 10,000 rupees per person. They claimed that pool service wasn’t included in the day out package. We argued that this wasn’t mentioned earlier and that we had already paid. I left feeling very disappointed with the current management. If you're considering going for a day out or anything similar, think carefully before you decide.

Mixed feelings about pricing practices

At first, we were pleased with the service, the staff, and the views. However, issues arose when one staff member attempted to double charge us for Pool Usage simply because I am a foreign woman married to a local. This was after we had confirmed the prices over the phone. To make matters worse, they even tried to add a 3% surcharge for using a debit card! I'm really disappointed since we were referred to this place by friends, and we won’t recommend it to anyone until these unethical practices are addressed.

Lovely experience at this place

I'm excited to share my wonderful experience at this location, which I learned about from a friend. Although I'm not typically one to go out, this spot has truly impressed me. My family also enjoys coming here, and I feel the same way. The service here is excellent, thanks to the kind-hearted staff. Comfy atmosphere but needs better service

The restaurant has a lovely, cozy, and soothing atmosphere, yet it could benefit from more regular cleaning. It would also be nice if the staff were more attentive, could answer calls, and provided basic amenities like blankets and soap. Additionally, having the generator operator nearby during power outages would help prevent the difficulties we faced. The food is quite good, and I look forward to seeing improvements in service in the future. ❤️

Improved Experience Under New Management

This was my fourth visit to this place, and I learned that it has new ownership. My previous experiences weren't great, but the new management has made some impressive renovations. The staff is friendly and attentive. The pool was clean this time, a big change from my last visit. The rooms were also in good shape after the renovations. Mervin is now in charge of operations; he's very knowledgeable and speaks excellent English, which I found impressive. If you're considering a venue for a private party, I highly recommend it. There are 5 double rooms and 1 triple room available. We reserved all the rooms for our event, and the staff didn't disturb us at all. We had a fantastic night at our function.

Fascinating nature getaway with great service

We had a fantastic day at New Bolgoda Lavan in Piliyandala! The setting is truly captivating, allowing us to connect with nature. The staff's service was outstanding, enhancing our experience even more. Parking was easy, and the food was both tasty and of excellent quality. The swimming pool was well-kept and very clean. The accommodations, including double and triple rooms, were comfortable and met good standards. Service was top-notch, and even the arrangement of chairs and tables was well-planned. A highlight was the stunning view of the Bolgoda River, particularly during sunset—absolutely mesmerizing! I highly recommend it for a relaxing escape. I would definitely return!

Wonderful stay at Lavan Bolgoda

I spent 20 nights at Lavan Bolgoda during a personal trip from abroad. The location is fantastic, surrounded by beautiful and tranquil nature. The staff were exceptionally helpful and made me feel very welcomed. My room was clean and spacious, with a very comfortable bed that ensured a great night's sleep. Overall, it's a wonderful, safe, and quiet spot for a vacation, and I will definitely return.

Great experience for a group outing

Recently, we had a group outing at New Lavan Bolgoda, and it exceeded our expectations. We organized a little Awurudu ceremony there, and everything went incredibly smoothly, thanks to the manager and the friendly staff. There were no hidden fees, and the place was spacious and relaxing, making it enjoyable for everyone. I highly recommend it.

Pleasant venue with great views

I recently reserved this venue for an event, and overall, we had a good experience. The service was friendly and accommodating. The view of the lake was lovely, and the small pool added to the charm. I appreciated the building's nice design, along with the small deck and swing, which contributed to a cool atmosphere during our stay. However, I found the food to be a bit bland.
