This is a good hospital offering quality services. The doctors and nursing staff are commendable. A special shoutout to Dr. R. Vimalarajan, the orthopedic specialist; he is an incredibly friendly, supportive, polite, and helpful doctor. All the other doctors are also very caring and attentive. The staff and management provide excellent care. Best wishes to the administration and the Batticaloa government. ❤️ from Trincomalee #respect

Batticaloa Teaching Hospital is located in Batticaloa, Sri Lanka, and serves as a government-run facility. It stands out as the primary hospital in the Eastern Province, overseen by the central government based in Colombo. This hospital is notable for being the sole teaching hospital in the Eastern Province and functions as the main clinical teaching site for Eastern University. As of 2010, it had a capacity of 900 beds.

I experienced two alarming incidents during my visit. A man named Ravi ayya, who scans OPD QR codes and is a skinny, middle-aged individual, wouldn’t stop talking. When I mentioned that I didn’t clearly understand Tamil, he attempted to touch me inappropriately, which made me scream. Later, another male attendant brushed past my friend and touched her inappropriately before walking away as if nothing had happened. On a positive note, I want to acknowledge that most of the nurses, doctors, and staff were very kind and helpful.

I was truly moved by the incredible service provided by the staff during my second visit to the batti. We came for a baby delivery in ward 07, and the staff there were exceptionally kind and respectful. Whenever we had questions, they provided thorough answers, which we greatly appreciated. Dr. Fasil, who is in charge of ward 07, was particularly helpful. We are very grateful to Mr. Fasil for his excellent service. A big thank you to all the staff in ward 07!

Batticaloa Teaching Hospital, located in Batticaloa, Sri Lanka, serves as the premier hospital in the Eastern Province. It is managed by the central government based in Colombo and holds the distinction of being the only teaching hospital in the region.

The way he interacts with patients is quite admirable... (doctors and nurses) However, there should be enhancements in how the medical road safety staff treat individuals visiting the hospital.

I had an accident at midnight, and no one came to check on me until 6:30 AM. They didn’t even bother to clean up the blood during that whole time. It’s clear that the service here is extremely poor, and they don’t seem to care about what happens to people. I wouldn’t even give this place a star.

The THB doctors' canteen in Batticaloa is the worst canteen I've ever encountered. On multiple occasions, I've had to wait over 15 minutes just to receive my food. This behavior has been frustrating for me recently. Medical students often ask for food, only to be told that it's unavailable. Even when there's a small crowd, they still take a long time to serve the food.
