A peaceful and pleasant place to relax. The staff is welcoming, the swimming pool is clean, and there’s a play area for kids. The prices are quite reasonable. I would definitely recommend it for tourists, especially families. It’s better to have your own transportation since it's a bit far from the city. However, it’s just a short walk to the beach and lighthouse. They also serve liquor on-site.

The service here is outstanding. The swimming pool is well-maintained, and the rooms are good and quite nice. It’s a peaceful setting with a fantastic location—one side has the river, and the other side is the beach. There’s also a cute, friendly dog on the premises. The staff are very welcoming and genuinely nice. The room rates are reasonable. If you're looking for a place to stay in Batticaloa, this hotel is worth considering.

I need to point out the lackluster management and service at this hotel. We made our reservation weeks in advance, and they assured us pool access. However, upon our arrival, we found the pool to be dirty. Even after we inquired about it, they attempted to make it seem like they were fixing the issue, but we were unable to use the pool during our two-day stay.👎 On a positive note, the hotel is located in a lovely spot next to the lagoon. The surroundings are peaceful, and there is parking available. The rooms were decent, but the air conditioning didn’t function well. Dinner was served cold and tasted mediocre. They do have a BYOB policy, and you can purchase some snacks and beer on-site.

We booked all 7 rooms for our stay, and it was fantastic! The staff were very friendly, and we felt safe throughout our visit. It's a great spot for families. The pool was incredible. I'm looking forward to coming back!

We had a fantastic experience at the new Sunrise Hotel in Batticaloa! The setting is gorgeous, offering breathtaking views of the lagoon. The service was excellent, and the pool area was kept spotless. Spending our evenings by the pool while enjoying the sunset was incredibly relaxing. I highly recommend this place!

We had an amazing two-night experience at New Sunrise Hotel in Batticaloa and cherished every minute. The hotel is well-kept, and the rooms are spacious, offering a lovely view of the lagoon and pool. It's an ideal spot for a relaxing getaway. The staff, particularly Sakthi, were always friendly and attentive, which enhanced our stay. Highly recommend it—we would certainly return!

Nestled between the renowned Batticaloa lagoon and the Indian Ocean, this spot boasts spacious rooms and a pool right by the lagoon. The service is exceptional, and the authentic Sri Lankan cuisine prepared by Janani and Dhanush is fantastic. Plus, it's very affordably priced. I strongly recommend this place in Batticaloa.

I had high hopes for this hotel, but I can only give it 2 stars. On the bright side, the rooms are truly spacious, which worked well for our family trip since we booked four rooms. Unfortunately, that space doesn't compensate for the cleanliness and maintenance issues. The most concerning problem was a noticeable pest issue. I discovered cockroaches and bugs in my first room, and after moving to different rooms, I found them in all four that our family used. It was incredibly unsettling, as I'm not a fan of bugs. Maintenance was lacking as well. At one point, the water supply in the bathrooms completely stopped, leaving several of us stranded inside. To make matters worse, my bathroom had a used roll of toilet paper from the previous guest that hadn't been replaced. While the layout is family-friendly, the poor hygiene and maintenance made our stay quite uncomfortable. I can't recommend this place until they address their pest control and plumbing issues.

Today, I visited the New Sunrise Hotel with my friends. The pool was spotless, and the environment felt peaceful and natural. We had lunch, and the food was tasty. The prices were quite reasonable. The General Manager, S. Saktheeswaran, was very welcoming, and everything was well organized. Overall, it's a fantastic spot to relax and enjoy time with friends!
