    Perfect stay for hikers on Pekoe Trail

    We spent the weekend at The Railway View Villa while trekking along the Pekoe Trail, and it turned out to be an ideal spot for those tackling Stages 17 or 18. The villa was spotless, well-organized, and exceptionally comfy after a long day of hiking. The meals were tasty—homemade and bursting with flavor. The owner, Saranga, along with his family, was incredibly humble and gracious. Their warm hospitality made us feel genuinely cared for during our visit. Saranga also provided us with useful tips about the trail and pointed us to where we could find authentic local tea and other necessities. I highly recommend this place for hikers seeking a cozy and welcoming stop on the Pekoe Trail!

    Spacious Room with Minor Issues

    The room we stayed in was roomy, but some others had a noticeable mold odor, so we picked the one that smelled the least. We were taken aback to be charged for the tea that was served upon arrival, as it’s usually complimentary or at least should be mentioned if there's a cost. The shower experience was excellent, providing hot water with good pressure. Unfortunately, the kitchen wasn’t fully equipped; while it was available, there were no utensils or cooking tools. We made do with our camping stove, and the hosts kindly offered to provide knives or anything else we might need. The location is fantastic, right at the beginning and end of the Pekoe Trail stage.

    Great hosts and perfect location

    The hosts were incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming. This place boasts a fantastic location, particularly for those hiking the pekoe trail (section 17/16). The host spoke excellent English and assisted us with everything we needed. Dinner was tasty, and they generously provided us with takeaway breakfast for our hike.

    Perfect Stay at The Railway View Villa

    I had a truly wonderful experience at The Railway View Villa. It's an ideal spot for resting after hiking the Pekoe Trail. My room was spacious and brand new, with a very comfy bed and an incredible shower that had plenty of hot water. I enjoyed both dinner and breakfast at the villa, and each meal was delightful. The owners are fantastic—very friendly and attentive, they made sure I was well taken care of during my visit. Thank you for everything; it was a memorable experience. Highly recommended!

    Great Stay on the Pekoe Trail

    Wonderful accommodations located right on the Pekoe Trail. You won’t need to ask for anything here; the service is top-notch, with helpful tips for tours and assistance with transportation. The shower has hot water, the bed is extremely comfortable, and breakfast is satisfying with plenty of options. The view from the veranda serves as a stunning starting point for hiking. I would happily return on my next visit.

    Refreshing Stop After a Hike

    After completing our hike along the pekoe trail from Ella to Demodara, we stopped in for a drink and enjoyed some wonderfully refreshing lime juices. The friendly owner even helped us arrange tuk tuks back to Ella. Although we didn't stay overnight, the rooms appeared to be clean. There’s also a shared outdoor veranda and an indoor sitting area, which seem like great spots to chat with fellow hikers. I would definitely recommend this place!

    Great stay on the Pekoe Trail

    This is the top spot along the Pekoe Trail. I originally planned to stay for just one night but ended up extending my visit to four. The rooms are immaculate, the setting is tranquil and stunning, and the food is some of the best I've had in Sri Lanka. It's an ideal base for stages 18-21, and I highly recommend it since other accommodations don’t match this quality and value. The place is run by a wonderful family who are eager to assist with anything you might need. The villa's gardens are gorgeous, and I spent countless hours observing hornbills, various kingfishers, and cuckoos flitting around the trees. It's a peaceful and soothing place to relax after the challenging stages 16 and 17, or before tackling the tough stages 19-21.

    Great stay with lovely hosts

    We had a fantastic stay here! The location is perfect, right at the end/beginning of stages 16 and 17 of the Pekoe trail. The rooms are modern and very comfortable, complete with a smart TV, which felt like a real luxury! The family running the place is incredibly kind, and the food for both breakfast and dinner was absolutely delicious. We enjoyed some wonderful conversations with Saranga, a genuinely nice man who goes above and beyond to make sure you have an enjoyable experience. Overall, it was a great experience!

    Clean and Comfortable Stay

    We really enjoyed our time at this place. After staying in some not-so-clean accommodations along the pekoe trail, this one stood out as the best. The cleanliness was impressive, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and the shower was wonderful. The owners who took care of us were very friendly and kind. They made us breakfast, which was delicious. I highly recommend this spot; it felt like a hotel.

    Wonderful Stay at Railway View Villa

    Highly recommended! We enjoyed a fantastic stay at Railway View Villa. It's located at the start (or end) of a stage on the Pekoe Trail, making it super convenient. Plus, it’s just a short distance from the Hali Ela station, allowing easy trips to Badulla or Ella! The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and tidy. The beds are comfortable, and the shower provided warm water! The meals are tasty and can be customized to your preferences. The service is excellent, and the family that runs the place is very considerate and friendly! Overall, it was an amazing experience ❤️
