Unique Flavors in Kurunegala

A fantastic new spot in Kurunegala! The flavors and variety are truly one-of-a-kind. Prices are fair, and the service is both friendly and quick. The interior is fantastic and creates a great atmosphere. I sampled the Charcoal soru, chilli submarine, and Charcoal signature chicken leg. Each dish had its own unique taste, and I particularly enjoyed the chicken soru. While the food was exceptional, I feel the mocktail selection could be improved. Overall, I highly recommend this place—it's a must-visit in Kurunegala.

Great interior, but parking issues

I recently visited this restaurant and really appreciated the decor. However, parking during busy hours can be tricky. I suggest opting for dining in instead of takeaway, as the wait times can be quite lengthy. For instance, my smoked chicken fried rice took more than 30 minutes to arrive. While the portion was generous, the rice itself was rather bland and lacked vegetables. On a positive note, the chicken popsicle stood out as a highlight.

Fantastic café experience!

Delicious food and great service

I recently dined at Charcoal Smoke House in Kurunegala and had an excellent experience. The food was incredibly tasty, with the freshly grilled dishes really standing out for their flavor and quality. The mixed platter was particularly impressive—generous portions and perfectly cooked. The staff were very helpful and attentive, which enhanced the overall experience. The atmosphere felt cozy and welcoming, and the restaurant's cleanliness was evident, contributing to a pleasant vibe. The only drawback was the mojito, which fell short of expectations, but everything else more than compensated for it. Definitely recommended!

Great dining experience at Charcoal Smokehouse

I visited Charcoal Smokehouse with my sister and mother, and we had a fantastic time. I ordered the black chicken fried rice, which I absolutely loved. The flavor was incredible, and I highly suggest trying this black fried rice—it's a must. The interior design of Charcoal Smokehouse is quite nice and well-executed. The service was good, with friendly and welcoming staff. All in all, it was a delightful dining experience, and I wholeheartedly recommend Charcoal Smokehouse to everyone! 💯

Highly recommended dining spot

If you're in Kurunegala, this is one of the top places I can suggest. The food is fantastic and consistently satisfying. I personally recommend trying the charcoal signature Indonesian black rice.

Disappointing steak experience

We visited this place for the beef and steak offerings. Unfortunately, the steak chop was quite rubbery and tasteless. The filet mignon was cooked properly but also had a bland and rubbery texture. It's worth noting that they do understand the quality of meat they're dealing with, especially considering the differences between Sri Lankan and North American cuts. Aside from the letdown with the beef, the noodle flavors were decent but lacked a variety of meats and seafood; there was only one small shrimp, a tiny piece of chicken, and a piece of beef no larger than two small shrimp. The rice was good, but again, it was missing chicken. The drinks were the only aspect that met expectations. I found it questionable that they automatically added a 1500 rupee service fee to a bill exceeding 15,000 LKR, especially given the portion sizes and quality of the meat, particularly since this isn’t a hotel.

Cheese Kottu Steals the Show

We stopped by for dinner and found the interior to be quite simple with plenty of seating available. My only issue was that the A/C wasn't cooling adequately; they really should consider adding some fans since it can get quite warm while dining.

Great food, needs better washroom cleanliness

After a school match, we were driving home with a group of kids who were really hungry. Upon entering, we found the atmosphere to be pleasant, and the kids enjoyed it. Our order came out quickly. The food was fantastic, and the kids really liked it, especially since it was Halal. However, given that many of us had a long drive ahead, the cleanliness of the washrooms needs considerable improvement. Overall, this is a solid choice if you're looking for a decent place to eat.
