Excellent Care at Lady Ridgeway Hospital
From the outset, the staff were amicable, professional, and clearly skilled at their jobs. While some had to be assertive, it was simply necessary for maintaining order in a hospital that caters to a diverse clientele. Their organized schedule kept everything operating seamlessly. The accommodations for parents are basic: if you have a cot, you only receive a chair; if you opt for a bed, you get a chair along with a resting bed—not luxurious, but sufficient for the situation. The atmosphere can be noisy and hectic at times, but if you take a moment to watch, you’ll notice an incredible rhythm in the way doctors, nurses, and support staff collaborate. Their commitment is truly commendable. The facilities are practical. Washrooms are cleaned several times a day, although heavy traffic makes it difficult to keep them immaculate. Hand sanitizers are available everywhere, but it’s wise to bring your own supplies as well. Unlike private hospitals, you won’t be pampered; you need to contribute to ensure a smooth experience. The food offered is basic and complimentary, with budget-friendly choices available in the canteen, and there’s even an FRS canteen open to the public. Amenities like small parks and play areas, along with charging stations, provide added comfort. The hospital grounds are lush and breezy, featuring natural airflow, birds singing, and leaves rustling—a refreshing environment. While the stay may not be the most comfortable, if you approach it with patience and perspective, you’ll come to appreciate the staff’s dedication and the unique setting. Lady Ridgeway Hospital truly stands out for its exceptional service.
