There’s a wide selection of ingredients for creating your rice dish with plenty of vegetable options, which is perfect for me as a vegetarian, and they also offer meat. The staff here are really lovely!

Charming local restaurant close to the Dambulla cave, serving tasty food along with excellent service! I left my bag behind, and they went out of their way to find me! I'm incredibly thankful!

If you’re looking for delicious homemade food, this place is a must-visit. The lady who runs it is incredibly welcoming to tourists and took the time to explain each dish we tried. This is truly an authentic Sri Lankan culinary experience that you won’t want to miss.

This local spot serves simple homemade dishes, and while the food is enjoyable, it has its downsides. One positive is the opportunity to sample various dishes. However, the prices are quite steep compared to local norms, and it seems likely that tour guides bring most customers here. There’s no menu or displayed prices, and although our guide estimated around $6, we ended up paying over $7 each. Additionally, the lady calculating our bill shortchanged us, requiring us to point out her mistake. It's frustrating, especially since local food typically costs less—these prices are more suited for upscale venues. On top of that, I’m not a fan of having animals in the restaurant. I adore cats and dogs, but not everyone does, and some people have allergies. It's better to keep pets at home or away from dining areas.

My family and I celebrated my birthday here, and they truly made us feel at home, creating a memorable experience. The food was comforting, authentic, and bursting with flavor. They even went above and beyond by bringing out a cake to make the night special. I highly recommend this place, especially considering the reasonable prices. The hospitality was incredible, so if you're in the area, be sure to support Sandia the cook and her husband Abdula!
