This restaurant is situated right next to the canal and offers plenty of outdoor seating. We visited in the evening for dinner and loved the festive lighting. We tried several dishes, such as lemongrass pumpkin soup, penne arrabbiata, crispy chicken burger, egg kottu, and Thai seafood rice, all of which were tasty. The manager was friendly and delivered outstanding service.

The prawn and mango salad was fantastic, featuring mango instead of avocado. The BBQ chicken was outstanding for just 800rs, highly recommend! The live music was a bit loud, but the atmosphere was nice with lovely lights.

Upon examining the bill, we found we had been charged twice for several items. When we brought this to the steward's attention, he recognized the error and adjusted the bill. Sadly, the environment was quite unsatisfactory as it was overly loud, filled with many inebriated guests, which made our experience less enjoyable.

This place comes highly recommended! It's a wonderful location right next to Polhena Beach. The food is not only flavorful but also presented beautifully. I particularly enjoyed the bites. The vibe here is both lively and calming. I will definitely be back!

I’m giving Lion’s Bay Polhena a one-star rating primarily because of the unprofessional and disappointing service I received. As a loyal customer of their other establishment, Lion’s Gate, I can vouch for their high food quality. To be fair, this new location also serves good food. However, my overall experience was marred by the service and questionable billing practices. We reserved their party room, which was advertised for 4 hours at LKR 5,000. Yet, we were later hit with an extra charge of LKR 3,000 for just an additional 30 minutes. This was not communicated to us clearly in advance, and I truly can’t grasp the logic behind such pricing. It felt unjust and left me quite disappointed. Having good food isn’t sufficient when the customer service and billing transparency fall short. I certainly won’t be returning unless these matters are properly resolved. Please work on improving your staff service, communication, and especially your pricing transparency.

I had the tom yum soup, and it was really tasty, though the portion was a bit small. It worked for me, but I can see it might not satisfy everyone. It was served with a slice of toasted bread, which was meant to be garlic bread. The restaurant itself is quite pleasant and very spacious, situated by the canal.
