Great stay with attentive service

My flight to Sri Lanka via Doha was canceled unexpectedly due to the airport closures from the conflict in Iran, which meant I had to take a different flight and arrived two days later than planned. Donald was extremely accommodating regarding my situation and adjusted my entire booking without any hassle. Thanks to his kindness, I arrived in Sri Lanka feeling relieved. The guesthouse was easy to locate, with a banner right at the entrance of the alley. The location is ideal, just a minute’s walk to Polhena Beach through a back path, and conveniently situated at the start of the main road, making it simple to access supermarkets and other areas. The room was more spacious than I anticipated, clean, and quite comfortable. For longer stays, they change the bedding weekly. There’s a shared kitchen for preparing food and a communal refrigerator for storage. Although my room lacked AC, the ceiling fan kept it sufficiently cool. Initially, I had some trouble with mosquitoes, but I was really touched to see Donald lighting mosquito coils outside my door every evening. I had initially booked for two weeks, but I enjoyed it so much that I extended my stay to a total of four weeks. They offer shared snorkeling gear and have a large parking area where I could securely park my rented scooter. There’s also a washing machine available, which is a significant advantage for long-term travelers. Typically, after four weeks, you might start to notice minor inconveniences, but I encountered absolutely none and felt entirely at home. If I find myself in Matara again, I wouldn’t hesitate to book this place once more. A big thanks to Donald for being so attentive and helpful throughout my four-week stay!

Great stay with helpful host

We spent two months on the top floor. Donald was an incredibly helpful host, and the enclosed yard felt very secure—I even left expensive surfboards outside and the car key in the ignition several nights without worry.

Great stay near the sea

This place is fantastic! The owner is really nice, and it's conveniently located just a 2-minute walk from the beach. The accommodations are clean and comfortable, with hot water and air conditioning. This is our second visit, and we’re very satisfied. I highly recommend it for everyone looking for a place to stay.

Charming Stay with Great Breakfast

Donald is incredibly welcoming and friendly. His place is tidy, peaceful, and comfortable, featuring a lovely garden. We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast, especially the bananas picked from his tree. I highly recommend it for a wonderful time close to the beach and the sea, where we swam with plenty of turtles.

Great service despite travel chaos
