Avoid making reservations here! They provide a terrible service, accepting a sizable group booking for my cousin's wedding, only to cancel on us the day before, claiming they received a better offer. The staff were unhelpful and rude, refusing to assist us in finding alternative accommodation.

We spent two nights here, and it was the worst hotel experience I’ve had in Sri Lanka. The place was incredibly dirty, and the staff seemed more interested in each other than in cleaning up. Everything was rusty, and the bathroom was completely covered in limescale. It was truly a terrible experience, and I cannot recommend it. I hope this review helps others. We even left our clothes for laundry, but they didn’t come back smelling clean. A complete disaster.

My stay at this hotel was quite disappointing. The level of cleanliness left a lot to be desired; my room wasn’t cleaned properly and felt quite unhygienic. The state of the toilet was particularly concerning and clearly not well-maintained.

We spent three nights in three rooms at Crystal Resort, Dikwella over Christmas 2025. The location is stunning, but our initial experience was frustrating. We had asked for first-floor rooms for my 78-year-old wife since there’s no lift, but management only granted this after we mentioned we would leave because she couldn't manage the stairs. To make matters worse, the first room we were given had a leaking sink, which required us to move again. For a hotel at this price point, I expected flawless service. The Pros: • Rooms were clean and well-appointed with AC, fridge, and tea/coffee. • Gorgeous views of the sea and pool from the balcony. • Excellent location near Dikwella beach. The Cons: • Lack of an elevator and no ground floor options (not suitable for seniors). • Maintenance issues like leaky plumbing and loose fittings. • Only breakfast is available for an additional charge. Overall, we appreciated the natural beauty of Dikwella beach, but the hotel management needs to enhance their hospitality and maintenance practices.

I had the worst hotel experience ever. The overall cleanliness of the hotel was lacking, and it seemed very poorly taken care of. The service was disappointing; the towels were dirty, several power outlets didn’t work, and the Wi-Fi was hardly usable. My room was infested with mold, which made it clear that proper cleaning and maintenance had been neglected for a long time. The only redeeming quality was the location, right in front of Dickwella Beach. Unfortunately, aside from that, this hotel is in terrible shape and does not meet acceptable standards. I cannot recommend this place at all. It was a truly disappointing experience and a complete waste of money.

We highly recommend this lovely place! The sea view room was very clean, and the pool was nice. Our family had a great time, and everything was perfect. We will definitely come back! 😍

I strongly advise against staying at this hotel. As a woman, I had a deeply troubling encounter with the hotel manager, a man who entered my room under false pretenses, claiming to check something. Once inside, he approached me inappropriately, expressed his attraction to me, and then physically jumped on me. I had to force him out of my room to get him to leave. Afterward, he completely denied the incident. This behavior is extremely serious; it left me feeling unsafe and violated. No woman should have to endure such treatment in a supposedly secure environment. Additionally, the hotel altered the price at checkout, charging me significantly more than what we had originally agreed upon, without any valid explanation. Given the serious safety concerns and the dishonest pricing practices, this hotel is absolutely untrustworthy. I strongly recommend steering clear of it. In response to inquiries, I have reported the harassment incident to the police in detail. While I did pay for the room, the discrepancy in checkout pricing is yet another reason to avoid this hotel. Please be cautious.

The location right on the beach was fantastic, and I preferred this beach to the more Ibiza-style ones as it felt much more relaxed. I really enjoyed my time there. However, the welcome was lacking; I felt quite unwelcomed, as the staff was rude, ignored us, and didn’t engage in any conversation or guidance.

This place has a fantastic location, a clean room, and a comfortable bed. I would certainly recommend it. The one downside is the Wi-Fi quality, which isn't very good—similar to many places I've experienced in Sri Lanka. However, the location more than compensates for it.

The location is excellent—we enjoyed being slightly removed from the bustling, touristy area of Hirikettiya while still being within walking distance. We spent three nights here and were greeted with a welcome drink when we arrived. The pool was a highlight for us. Our room featured a comfortable bed, a lovely balcony, breathtaking views, and a strong, hot shower. The staff did a commendable job maintaining cleanliness and keeping the beach sand at bay. The beach across the street is fantastic, mostly deserted, and has exciting, powerful waves! Plus, there are plenty of dining options and grocery stores in the vicinity. However, there are areas for improvement: the shower meant for rinsing off sand lacks power and privacy. The hotel shows signs of wear and could benefit from some updates and a thorough cleaning. Additionally, the staff were unhelpful when I asked them to print two pages for me.
