Fantastic hotel with stunning views

We spent three nights at this hotel and enjoyed every moment! The staff consistently went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable, especially with our little girl. The pool is delightful for unwinding after a day of exploring, and the beach is gorgeous too! Our rooms were spacious, and any issues that arose were promptly addressed by the helpful staff - I would definitely recommend this place! The rooftop terrace on the third level offers breathtaking views, and the staff were more than willing to bring drinks up there, making it a perfect spot to watch the sunset over the beach!

Beautiful hotel with fantastic staff

I really shouldn't be writing this review because I want to keep this amazing hotel to myself! It's such a stunning place, boasting a lovely atmosphere and a fantastic location. We adored the room, the food, the swimming pool, and the beach. However, what we loved the most was the staff; they were incredibly friendly, helpful, and attentive. They truly went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect! We highly recommend this hotel and definitely plan to return.

Pleasant stay with friendly service

Great stay with minor laundry issue

We spent 5 nights at this hotel and switched rooms three times, experiencing various types. The family room was spacious, but since it was my husband, our toddler, and I, we felt the need for a smaller, cozier room. Once a double room became available, we moved and felt much better. All the rooms were clean and equipped with everything we needed; we were satisfied with all three rooms and would recommend them. The food was enjoyable; we dined at the restaurant some evenings and loved everything we had. Breakfast was also tasty, with plenty of options—everything we tried was delicious, albeit a bit sweet, which is typical in Sri Lanka. The service was excellent! From the reception staff to the cleaners, everyone was friendly and warm. Our toddler was happy, and the staff always had smiles and jokes to share. A special mention goes to Mr. Kaveendra, who was incredibly attentive to us and everyone at the pool and restaurant. We truly appreciated his efforts; he was funny and hardworking, making our experience feel wholesome. The swimming pool area was tidy and provided lots of fun; overall, it was a lovely experience. We wouldn’t have switched rooms three times if we didn’t want to stay! We were eager to find the next available room. Thank you to everyone for this wonderful experience; I would definitely return on my next visit to Dickwella! Hiriketiya beach is just a 10-minute walk away, with all the tourist shops you need. The hotel is right on the beach, so the distance to the beach or shops was not an issue. We also explored Dickwella for shopping. The only concern was feeling a bit unsafe with the stroller on the streets due to traffic and tuk-tuks, but nothing bad happened. The only downside that surprised us was the laundry pricing, which was exorbitant even by European standards. While there are laundry options in Dickwella and towards Hiri beach, we opted for convenience and ended up paying a lot. Honestly, we could have traveled to a different beach and still spent less. The hotel should have informed us about the laundry costs, as we might have chosen differently. However, if that’s the only negative, we’re happy! We wholeheartedly recommend this accommodation, the people, and everything else. Thank you for enhancing our experience!

Perfect Honeymoon Getaway

This charming hotel is nestled on the beach, providing a peaceful spot for relaxation while still being a short walk or an inexpensive tuk-tuk ride to Hiriketiya. The breakfast was fantastic, and our room was spacious and comfortable. The pool area offers a very soothing atmosphere. They truly exceeded our expectations for our honeymoon with special touches upon our arrival. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, especially during breakfast! Great family stay in Sri Lanka

I highly recommend this beautiful hotel. We spent 4 nights in a family room with our two kids, and it was a fantastic way to wrap up our Sri Lanka trip! The hotel is very clean and peaceful, and the rooms are delightful and cool. The pool area is wonderful, featuring umbrellas for shade and direct access to the beach. The breakfast options are delicious and packed with flavor. As is often the case in Sri Lanka, it’s the staff that truly enhance the experience. Everyone was incredibly friendly and went out of their way to ensure our stay was memorable. Dickwella beach is absolutely lovely, quiet, and perfect for morning strolls.

Outstanding food and serene atmosphere

This was the best hotel we experienced during our trip to Sri Lanka. We were especially struck by the incredible food—some of the finest tuna I've ever had. Although we typically don't dine at hotels, we ended up eating there three times because it was just that delicious! The service at the hotel is top-notch, and I want to give a special shout-out to Kaveendra for being particularly kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. Stepping in from the busy road to the hotel felt like entering a peaceful oasis. The pool was delightful and well-maintained, and the hotel had direct access to Dickwella Beach, which was serene and stunning, featuring the most breathtaking sunsets we've ever witnessed. Even though it’s just outside Hiriketiya town, it's only a five-minute walk along the main road or you can stroll along the beach. We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel!

Lovely hotel with some drawbacks

We enjoyed our time at Ivory Dickwella. The hotel was very tidy, and both breakfast and meals were tasty. The staff were always friendly, polite, and incredibly helpful, especially with our children, which we truly appreciated. The pool was well-kept and clean, plus its proximity to the sea is a significant advantage. However, there was a downside: our room lacked a proper window. Although the photos suggested that the door led to a balcony, it actually opened to an interior courtyard, which was disappointing. Furthermore, while this isn’t the hotel’s fault, it’s situated in a less appealing area of Dickwella. Since it was our first visit, we didn’t anticipate this. We chose the hotel for its closeness to Hiriketiya, but the street is not child-friendly for walking—it’s hectic and in an older neighborhood. All in all, the hotel itself is charming, but the location and room setup are things to consider before making a reservation.

Great stay with beautiful views

We only spent one night here without a reservation, and everything was fantastic! The rooms are tidy and cozy, the staff is outstanding, and the surroundings are lovely. The breakfast offers a wide selection and is incredible; we also had lunch the following day, which was both delicious and reasonably priced. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to relax and enjoy the sunset along with the beach right in front of the resort!
