I had a wonderful experience here. The family that runs the place are incredibly kind and welcoming. As someone traveling alone, I felt completely safe during my stay. The accommodations are spotless and pleasant, equipped with all the necessary amenities. It's excellent value for what you pay!

My experience at this hostel was quite disheartening and misleading. I initially visited without a reservation to check out the accommodation. At first, the price for a dorm bed seemed fair, but I soon discovered that everything came with additional fees: Want air conditioning? Extra charge. Want to use the kitchen? Extra charge. Need to store something in the fridge? Extra charge. Need a towel? You guessed it—extra charge. After tallying everything up, the total cost was outrageous, so I opted not to stay. However, as I was leaving, I looked online and was stunned to find I could book through Hostelworld for half the price—all-inclusive! I quickly made a reservation and went back to the hostel. Upon showing them my booking, they completely shifted their story. They suddenly claimed they didn’t work with Hostelworld and that my reservation was invalid. This was an outright lie. Once the police were involved, they finally admitted that they do accept Hostelworld bookings. But by then, it was obvious they were deliberately trying to overcharge me and undermine reservations made through official channels. In short: This hostel is deceptive, untrustworthy, and attempts to extract as much money from guests as possible. Save yourself the trouble and choose a different place.

This place offers cozy accommodations! I intended to stay for just a few nights but ended up extending my visit to over a month. The wonderful family at Olu-bunk is incredibly hospitable and friendly. The rooms are tidy, comfortable, and conveniently located within walking distance to several lovely beaches. You also have the option to use the kitchen to whip up your own snacks or meals. I strongly recommend this spot for anyone seeking a safe, inviting, and warm experience with a family that truly cares. Thanks for everything ❤️

What a wonderful family runs this place! ❤️ We spent three nights here (initially booked for two but enjoyed it so much that we extended our stay). The rooms are brand new and spotless, and the family was incredibly quick to assist whenever we needed something. There’s air conditioning and fans, a nice bathroom, and a shared kitchen on the lower level. On the morning we went surfing, the owner kindly prepared a traditional Sri Lankan breakfast for us—completely complimentary! We would absolutely recommend this place!! ☺️

Our experience here has been among the best we've had in Sri Lanka. The family running this charming guesthouse is incredibly kind, lovely, and helpful. Initially, we intended to stay for just one night, but we ended up extending our stay to three nights. The room was excellent as well: spacious, with a balcony, very comfortable beds, and effective air conditioning.

I had another wonderful stay at another Olu Bunk. The rooms were fantastic, and I particularly enjoyed the bathroom, which offered plenty of space and great amenities. It would have been nice to have a pen and paper, as well as a few laundry bags. Overall, it was a very relaxing experience, and the food was excellent too! I definitely recommend it to anyone.

I left a piece of my heart at Olu Bunk. Sharing conversations, thoughts, and moments with this wonderful family was a genuine joy. I stumbled upon this place during a challenging moment of my solo trip in Sri Lanka, and instead of just finding a place to stay, I discovered a family. They provided support and reminded me of the true essence of travel. Travel isn’t just about destinations, money, or possessions — it’s about the connections we make, the warmth we feel, and the people we encounter along the journey. I will certainly return. We stumbled upon this spot by chance, and it turned out to be a fantastic discovery. The room was spotlessly clean, spacious, and comfy, which made our stay quite pleasant. The customer service was outstanding—friendly and welcoming the whole time. The location is ideal too, just a short stroll from the main road and the beach, making it easy to get around. All in all, it’s an excellent place to stay for a vacation, and we’d gladly recommend it.

This is a fantastic spot, with everything feeling fresh and beautifully decorated. The bed was extremely comfortable, allowing us to get a great night's sleep. Both the air conditioning and hot water functioned flawlessly. What really makes this place special are the host and his wife; they are incredibly friendly, attentive, and always around if you need anything. You instantly feel welcomed and well cared for. The location is perfect for taking walks, and we highly recommend this place. Thank you for everything – we can't wait to return! 😊
