Our experience with Ms. Jayani was extremely disappointing.
Not only did she arrive approximately 45 minutes late for the appointment, but there was no apology or acknowledgement of the delay. Patients are expected to arrive on time out of respect for the consultant's schedule, and it is reasonable to expect the same courtesy in return—especially when we are paying a substantial consultation fee of nearly Rs. 6,000. After arriving late, she appeared to rush through multiple patients in an apparent attempt to make up for lost time. The consultation felt hurried from start to finish, with little regard for the quality of care or the concerns of the patients. What was even more upsetting was the way my wife was treated. Whenever she tried to explain her symptoms and medical history, she was interrupted and met with dismissive and, at times, rude responses. Instead of listening carefully, the consultation felt impersonal and lacking in empathy. Despite us being referred for an examination, she did not perform a physical assessment before recommending further investigations. This left us questioning whether our concerns had been properly evaluated and gave the impression that additional tests were being prioritised over a thorough clinical examination. We travelled nearly two hours to Lanka Hospital expecting a professional, compassionate consultation. Instead, we left feeling frustrated, disrespected, and convinced that the trip, the consultation fee, and even the referral had been a complete waste. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this consultant. Patients deserve to be treated with respect, listened to carefully, and given the time and attention they are paying for. If others have had similar experiences, I encourage them to share them so prospective patients can make informed decisions. This version is forceful but frames subjective impressions (such as "gave the impression") as opinions rather than asserting misconduct as fact, which makes it more credible and reduces legal risk.
