The groomer showed great gentleness and patience with my Shih Tzu puppy during her first grooming and bath. She was quite resistant, but the groomer managed her very well. The service was both professional and satisfactory.

⚠️ HIGH IMPORTANCE ⚠️ They trimmed my cat's whiskers! I was referred to the grooming center at Zootopia Vets Nugegoda, but my cat was actually taken to Paw La La Nugegoda, which is a separate entity that employs Zootopia staff for grooming services. This wasn’t my first visit to Zootopia; it was actually my fourth or fifth time, and I've always appreciated their service. However, after my cat's grooming experience yesterday, I feel compelled to share this review as a warning for other pet owners. I initially scheduled grooming for two cats, but thankfully I only brought one. In hindsight, I'm really relieved I didn't put my other cat through the same ordeal. The grooming was done by two girls who clearly lacked training or experience with cats. They didn't wear gloves or masks, and from the outset, they struggled to handle my cat properly. While I usually respect groomers' requests for owners to wait outside, I insisted on staying in the room, and I'm so glad I did because what I saw was incredibly upsetting. First, they had only one blade and claimed they could only trim to that length, which was far too short. Then, during the grooming process, one of them put clipper oil directly on the razor while it was in use on my cat. Any responsible pet owner knows this is dangerous and could irritate the skin or even be toxic if ingested later. The most shocking part was when they trimmed my cat's whiskers. Everyone knows that whiskers are essential sensory tools for cats and should never be cut. At that moment, I really began to question whether these groomers had any real understanding of animal care. Things escalated when my cat jumped off the grooming table out of fear and discomfort. One of the groomers then held him upside down by one leg to control him, which was traumatic to witness as a pet owner. During the bath, they washed his face far too aggressively. No one should treat a pet’s face that way unless they are doing it gently and with care. It was clear they didn’t know what they were doing. At this point, I was furious and told them to stop touching his face and to refrain from any unnecessary actions. Even the drying process was poorly executed. I ultimately took my cat home because I no longer trusted them to handle him. For this experience, I was charged 6500. I'm just grateful my cat is safe! I'm deeply disappointed because I trusted this place based on my past experiences. But after what transpired yesterday, I cannot remain silent. Grooming should never traumatize an animal. If you truly care about your pets, please be cautious before trusting them here.
