I'm really sad to share that I had a terrible experience with this vet. My cat's eyes got worse instead of better. Previously, he could at least open his eyes, but after starting treatment, they became swollen and he couldn't even open them. I have no idea what medications she prescribed because she didn’t even mention the names on the packaging. I was very upset about taking my cat to her. Later, when I discussed the situation over the phone, I realized she was speaking nonsense. I explained that his issue was an infection caused by dust, but she kept insisting it was from a fight. The most shocking part was that she didn't bother to take my cat out of the carrier to check his eyes. How can a vet prescribe medication without properly examining the patient? I'm relieved I didn't return with my cat after that experience. Thankfully, my mom suggested rinsing his eyes with pomegranate leaf water, and within a week, he was completely healed. I learned that you shouldn't rely solely on doctors and sometimes need to think outside the box. This seems to be a common issue with many vets in Sri Lanka. I hope the veterinary field improves in both ethnoveterinary and holistic medicine.
