    Lovely stay with beautiful views

We had one of our most tranquil and stunning stays in Sri Lanka. The surrounding roads offer breathtaking views, and the staff provided excellent service. They prepared a delightful breakfast and dinner for us. We only wished we could have extended our stay!

    Serene retreat with amazing food

This place is definitely one of the top spots for a vacation. It's incredibly peaceful, and the beauty of the cottage along with the views is hard to put into words. The architecture of the cottage is stunning, and the tranquility of the area is impressive. We spent two days and one night there. The cottage was spotless, and all facilities were in good shape. While the cellular reception was quite poor, they offered Wi-Fi. The food we experienced was beyond amazing—I'd rate it 10,000 out of 10; it was that delicious. Chef Uditha's cooking truly elevated our dining experience. One highlight was the nearby waterfall, which felt like a private natural pool; it was a 10-minute walk from the cottage. Fortunately, there were no leeches since the weather was sunny, making the walk feel more like a pleasant hike. The security was top-notch, rated 10 out of 10. The staff, especially Chef Uditha, were incredibly attentive and provided excellent service. Our overall stay was fantastic, making this a must-visit destination! However, we did have to walk about 20 minutes from the main road because our bus couldn't access the narrow road leading there.

    Noisy and Unpleasant Stay

This was the worst experience we've had at a place. We visited on a Friday evening, and out of the three rooms available, two were occupied by the same family. They started singing and playing music around 6 PM, and since our room was directly above the entertainment area, the noise was unbearable. We couldn't watch TV in peace because the wooden floors meant the rooms weren’t soundproof. We could hear every conversation they had, and the JBL speaker was just too loud. When we complained, the drunken guests seemed ready to confront us, and the housekeeper was no help, saying he couldn't do anything. We ended up not sleeping at all that night. To make matters worse, there was no phone signal, and the WiFi was unreliable. We couldn't browse the internet or call to find another place since it was late at night, so we ended up leaving the next day, even though we had booked for two. The view was nice, but we were too exhausted to appreciate it because of our lack of sleep. Additionally, there were slugs in the bathroom, and I even found one on my pillow the next morning. Gross! If you're going to rent this place for drinking and music, at least make sure the other rooms are soundproof and improve the WiFi. I absolutely do not recommend this place to anyone.

    Beautiful rooms but pricey dining

The rooms were stunning and spotless, and the view was equally impressive. There’s a nature pool and waterfall only a 15-minute walk away on the property. The staff was very attentive and did a great job, but we did encounter one significant concern regarding the a la carte menu and its pricing. The prices for the portions were quite steep, particularly for the Sri Lankan breakfast. I would recommend that visitors consider bringing their own food due to the high prices, small portions, and limited drink options available.

Exceptional Hospitality in a Serene Setting

My family and I, visiting from Australia, spent two nights here. The location is just as depicted in the photos and description—picturesque, secluded, and a perfect spot to relax and soak in the beauty of nature. The bungalow manager, Uditha, provided outstanding service; he treated us like personal guests rather than just customers, truly embodying the warmth of Sri Lankan hospitality. It’s hard to overlook such genuine care. I would recommend this place for families or groups who enjoy nature.

    Lovely stay with stunning views

I had a great experience at Benjamin Cottage. The rooms were nice and offered an incredible view. There are four rooms in total, making it a peaceful and calming retreat in nature. A natural waterfall is just a 10-15 minute walk away from the cottage, which was a nice bonus. It's located about 1 km from the main road, and the access road is a bit narrow with limited parking available. The staff were friendly, and they offered a variety of dishes and drinks, including a continental breakfast, although the prices were on the higher side. One downside is that there’s no phone signal in the area and the Wi-Fi isn't very fast. Overall, it was a good stay.

    A tranquil getaway in nature

This is an ideal spot for those seeking tranquility and a sense of freedom. It's quite secluded, with only the sounds of the wind, birds singing, and a nearby waterfall to keep you company. They offer two rooms that can host around 6-7 guests. We spent our time in the ...

    Great stay in nature's embrace

The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, featuring lovely wood flooring and a fantastic view of the surrounding forest. The staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We were delighted to wake up to squirrels on the balcony, a monkey in the nearby trees, and geckos on the walls. It’s an ideal spot for nature and animal enthusiasts! To top it all off, there was a beautiful surprise at the waterfall. 😍

    Disappointing Stay at Benjamin Cottage

Our experience was quite disappointing. The rooms were not adequately cleaned, and there was an awful odor coming from the bathrooms that permeated the room, making our stay uncomfortable. Although WiFi and Dialog TV were included in our room rate, neither worked throughout our visit. Despite bringing this up with the staff, no action was taken. We chose Benjamin Cottage for a family getaway and ended up spending LKR 85,000 for a poorly maintained and mismanaged place. I would not recommend this venue at all.

    A serene jungle retreat

This place feels timeless and provides a refreshing change of scenery. Nestled in nature, it completely immerses you, making you feel detached from the hustle and bustle, all while offering stunning views. The access road might appear challenging initially, as the hotel is situated deep in the jungle, but that’s a small trade-off for the sense of seclusion and peace it offers. The hotel manager is attentive and present. The Sri Lankan food is both authentic and tasty. I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a nature getaway and some relaxation.
