Unforgettable stay with breathtaking views

We enjoyed two fantastic nights in Haputale, and it couldn’t have been better. The stunning view of Udawalawe Lake is something we’ll always remember — having authentic Sri Lankan tea while taking in that scenery felt enchanting. The atmosphere here is peaceful and inviting, just right for unwinding after exploring Haputale. The owner is genuinely a wonderful person — kind, attentive, and always willing to assist with anything we needed. It’s rare to encounter such warm hosts who truly make you feel at home. Convenient hotel with good service

This hotel, situated close to the center of Haputale, offers reasonable rates and excellent, accommodating service—they took care of all my needs. While the rooms show signs of age and could use some updates, they are in the process of adding a new section. The restaurant is quite spacious and offers a decent selection, although the prices are somewhat high for the quality of the food. All in all, it's a pleasant spot to stay when visiting Haputale.

Stunning views and friendly service

The hotel offers fantastic views and the host was both welcoming and attentive. Murali was especially friendly and provided great assistance. Breakfast was delightful, complemented by the beautiful scenery from the restaurant, and the black tea was particularly tasty. The rooms feature incredible views, are very quiet, and quite comfortable. This hotel is well-placed for exploring the area, and Hapitule has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.

Stunning views and good food

This spot boasts an incredible view that truly justifies the cost. The washrooms come with hot water, and the balcony offers an unbeatable vista. If you're looking to eat, you can place a pre-order, and the food is also reasonably priced. However, navigating to the town and finding parking can be somewhat challenging. Meals are served in a designated restaurant area that you need to visit. While there are no heaters, they do provide blankets, which are more than sufficient for staying warm in February's chilly weather.

Our experience at Srilak View Holiday Inn began with a warm welcome right when we arrived. They offered us a complimentary upgrade and ensured we were settled in comfortably. We were truly impressed by how accurately the view was depicted in their photos; in fact, they might be underselling just how beautiful it is. The scenery from both the restaurant and our rooms was magnificent. We were moved to the newly constructed deluxe rooms, which were incredibly relaxing and perfect for travelers. Trust me, you’ll want to see them yourself. The rooms are modern, functional, clean, and spacious enough to help you unwind. They provided breakfast and other meals from their menu, and were open to accommodating special requests whenever possible. Their young chef shows great promise. The new building boasts a contemporary, clean aesthetic, while the older structure has a charming rustic feel. The entire staff was dedicated to assisting us with anything we needed, without being overbearing. They even arranged tours at competitive prices and were willing to negotiate further if you desired. The front office staff and housekeeping team all took their roles seriously, ensuring we were comfortable and allowing us to fully enjoy our vacation. This place is truly a hidden gem, and you'll have to visit to discover it for yourself. A trip to Haputale offers more than just a hotel stay; the attractions extend beyond the well-known sites. Every part of the journey is picturesque, and you’ll appreciate the time spent enjoying the views, interactions, and various teas and snacks from local vendors. If you want to be in the clouds, I wholeheartedly recommend this place. Come to Haputale and stay at Srilak.

Room Issues Despite Overall Comfort

Our room had a damp feel and was a bit dirty around the edges. Before we arrived, the door had been left wide open, which let in insects and geckos! The rooms are pretty outdated, and the plug sockets are located near the ceiling, making it tough to charge devices.

Great stay with friendly staff

We had a fantastic time at this hotel. The staff were super friendly, welcoming, and always eager to assist. The rooms and the surroundings were kept very clean and well cared for. The view from the balcony was simply stunning and added to the charm of our stay. What really stood out to us was their kindness and willingness to accommodate our requests. We asked for a late check-out and were granted an extra 3 hours at no extra cost. That kind of hospitality is genuinely valued. I highly recommend this place for anyone seeking a cozy stay with gorgeous views and outstanding service. We'd certainly love to return.
