The Yala Safari was well-organized, and the guides did a great job spotting animals. Everything was on schedule, and the meals—breakfast and lunch—were quite good. On the downside, the English spoken by the driver/guides could use some improvement, and it would have been nice to receive more information about the animals rather than just their names.

We had a fantastic time on the safari with Janaka Safari at Yala Park. A big thank you to Su, who took the time to explain the rules beforehand, allowing us to enjoy an ethical experience while being respectful to the wildlife. He was very professional, exceptionally quick at spotting animals, and shared intriguing facts about them throughout the tour. I would absolutely recommend this safari.

Positives: - Booking via WhatsApp was quick and easy, which I really appreciated since we had to change dates and it was a simple fix. - We were fortunate to spot Leopards and other wildlife. - The experience felt very ethical; our driver Su was incredibly respectful towards the animals, always making sure we kept our distance and didn’t interfere, as we were guests in their territory. He even shouted at other drivers for blocking animal paths or getting too close—he apologized for yelling, but we loved him for it! - Considering lunch was included, the value for money is good. - Su explained the park rules well, which helped us be ethical and respectful. It was evident that other companies hadn’t provided this information to their passengers, so thanks to Su for that! Negatives: - I inquired about a private tour, which was somewhat confirmed, but it turned out to be a group tour without any communication regarding that. We ended up with a great group, so it worked out fine, but they should clarify this upfront. - At pickup, it was somewhat confusing to identify which company we booked with, as there were many Jeeps around, making it hard to know if we were getting into the right one. - We were informed that card payments were possible, but that wasn't the case. However, the driver was very helpful in taking us to an ATM. - While we did see Leopards and Elephants, we didn’t receive much information about other animals unless we specifically asked. Having just come from another safari, I felt the first-timers might be missing out on valuable insights. - Yala is very crowded! You’re unlikely to be the only Jeep in an area, and you know something must be there to see when 50 other Jeeps are around too. - We weren’t provided with a proper itinerary. The day starts with a 4:30am pickup, followed by waiting in a queue until the park opens at 6am, then a breakfast break, a lengthy 2.5-hour lunch break when the park closes, and a toilet break after lunch before leaving the park at 5pm. When you consider all this, I’m not sure a full day is truly worth it; you could probably see everything you need in the morning.

Our full-day safari in Yala with Janaka Tours was absolutely flawless, and our guide, Su, was outstanding. He was very knowledgeable about the area and opted to work independently rather than joining the group tours that tend to crowd the same animal sightings. This decision allowed us to avoid lengthy waits in jeep lines and experience the wildlife more privately. While we might have spotted fewer animals compared to other tours, we valued the respect for the wildlife and enjoyed the thrill of searching for leopards on our own. Communication with Janaka was smooth, and their pricing was very reasonable, so we wholeheartedly recommend them.

We scheduled a full-day safari, and it was undeniably worth every moment. Our driver, Mala, was exceptional, and we were fortunate to spot two leopards—one in the morning and another in the afternoon. We also enjoyed watching baby elephants play in the water, along with crocodiles and a variety of other wildlife. I highly recommend this experience!

What an incredible safari adventure with Janaka! We spotted three leopards, along with elephants, buffalo, crocodiles, birds, and monkeys! Truly unforgettable! Our guide, Srimal, was outstanding. He was knowledgeable, respectful of wildlife, and showed great experience. He ensured we were among the first to enter the park and went above and beyond all day. After seeing two leopards in trees, he took us to a quieter spot where we had an incredible close encounter with a leopard on the ground, just our jeep present. We were also celebrating my partner’s birthday, and he added a thoughtful surprise that made the day even more special. I couldn't recommend this experience highly enough! Thank you, Srimal!
