Relaxing Stay at Avonil Resort

We recently enjoyed a two-night stay at Avonil Resort in Yala, and it was a wonderfully relaxing and well-organized experience. From the moment we arrived, everything went smoothly. The resort kindly provided the dinner menu ahead of time on our arrival day and had a freshly prepared meal ready for us — a warm and welcoming gesture after a long journey. The rooms were spacious, impeccably clean, and well-maintained, providing a peaceful retreat. Our room had a view of a lush green paddy field, and waking up to the sunrise with birds chirping was nothing short of magical, offering a serene start to each day. One aspect we truly appreciated was that the gates are locked after 10 PM, which ensures a safe and secure environment for all guests. In the mornings, the tranquil surroundings and beautiful roads made for a perfect short walk or jog — a great way to start the day before enjoying a relaxing swim in the pool and a tasty Sri Lankan breakfast. Speaking of the pool, it was clean, well-kept, and comfortably warm, almost like a heated pool, making it an excellent spot to unwind anytime. The Sri Lankan food served throughout our stay was authentic and exceptionally well-prepared — definitely a highlight. We were also pleasantly surprised that, despite being surrounded by paddy fields, the resort was nearly insect-free, which enhanced our comfort. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always going above and beyond. A special mention goes to Shashika, who handled all our transport needs — from organizing Yala Safari Jeep tours to arranging tuk-tuks for local sightseeing and even a vehicle for our visit to the Hambantota Bird Park. They also arranged for a comfortable trip back to Colombo. Overall, Avonil Resort provides a peaceful, authentic, and memorable experience in Yala. It’s the ideal place to relax, explore, and enjoy warm Sri Lankan hospitality. Highly recommended!

Great stay near Yala National Park

This is a lovely and budget-friendly place to stay. The rooms are clean, roomy, and quite comfortable. The staff were friendly and responsive to all our needs. I would certainly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Just keep in mind that it’s approximately a 45-minute drive to Yala National Park.

Charming resort near Yala National Park

Located just a 5-minute drive from the main street, this small yet delightful resort offers spacious and clean rooms. You can arrange a jeep to take you on a safari tour in Yala National Park, which lasts about four hours. It's best to schedule the tour from 2 PM to 6 PM, and the jeep will pick you up right at the resort.

Comfortable stay with great staff

We strongly recommend this fantastic hotel. The rooms are really cozy! Traveling with two young kids, we found the staff to be exceptionally kind and accommodating. It featured the best shower we experienced in Sri Lanka, the pool is wonderful, and the view is stunning. Highly recommended!

Great peaceful stay for three nights

This place is absolutely fantastic. We had a delightful three-night stay here. It's situated in a serene spot, roughly 1 km from the main road. The rooms are cozy and spotless, and the tea tray and excellent WiFi were nice touches. They even provided pool towels. The pool is superb, very clean, and comfortable.

Great stay with friendly service

Our experience at Avonil was truly delightful. The staff were exceptionally warm and attentive, especially Vihara, who consistently made us feel welcomed and cared for. The service was top-notch from beginning to end. They also organized a Yala safari jeep for us, which was very convenient as they provided pickup and drop-off at the resort. The food stood out as a highlight, too; we enjoyed a fresh fruit platter and a tasty Sri Lankan breakfast. All in all, it was a relaxing and enjoyable visit that we would definitely recommend.
