My experience at the hostel was fantastic! Even though it was off-season, there was always someone available to chat with, and I really enjoyed the common areas. The owner was incredibly helpful; he connected me with others to form a group for a safari trip. He also assisted me in selecting and booking a bus to Colombo and arranged a tuktuk for me. Plus, the location is ideal. I highly recommend it!

This is one of the top hostels I've ever stayed in. Our experience was truly wonderful; the hostel is cozy with comfy beds, dependable AC, clean bathrooms, and thoughtful extras like bedside sockets and lockers. Roshan was incredibly welcoming and attentive, always going the extra mile to take care of us. He genuinely invests his heart and soul into ensuring everyone has a great time. His warmth, friendliness, and organizational skills were impressive, as he provided all the important information in detail. I highly recommend this place.

I had a wonderful stay at Wave Point Arugambay! The location can't be beat, just a quick stroll from the stunning Arugam Bay beach, ideal for both relaxation and surfing. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, boasting beautiful sea views from the balcony. The staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, ensuring we had everything we required throughout our visit. They also assisted us in arranging transportation and activities like safaris and surfing lessons. The on-site restaurant offers tasty food with plenty of choices, and the breakfast was particularly impressive. I appreciated the serene atmosphere — it’s the perfect place to relax after a day on the beach. I highly recommend this spot for anyone traveling to Arugam Bay. I will definitely return the next time I’m in the area!

I had my first visit to Arugam Bay and stayed at Way Point, and it was an excellent experience! The hostel provides both dormitory and double room options, catering to solo travelers and couples alike. The atmosphere is really laid-back and inviting. The facilities are well-kept: clean bathrooms with private showers, lockers (remember to bring your own padlock), cozy beds, and a lovely outdoor seating area that’s ideal for relaxing or socializing. They even have a juice bar to help you cool down after a day in the sun. The location is fantastic — right on the main road, making it simple to hop off a highway bus and check in. The staff are friendly and accommodating, which enhances your stay. If you decide to rent a scooter, bicycle, or car, it’s convenient to explore Arugam Bay and visit the beaches, surf spots, and local cafés. All in all, it’s a wonderful place for first-time visitors or anyone seeking a relaxed, convenient base in Arugam Bay.

Waypoint is my top choice for accommodation in Arugam Bay. I initially booked for 2 nights but ended up staying for 10. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and the welcoming atmosphere makes you feel right at home. Plus, it's conveniently located in the center.

The hostel boasts an excellent location, just a short walk from the beach and various restaurants, bars, and shops. The rooms, however, are quite basic and could use some upgrades for comfort, particularly the beds. During my visit, there weren't many activities planned, which made it challenging to connect with fellow travelers. It's suitable for a brief stay, but if you're seeking a more social or vibrant environment, this may not be the ideal spot.

We absolutely loved our time at Waypoint. We originally booked for three nights but ended up extending our stay to seven. Joe was incredibly accommodating, helping us with each last-minute extension and ensuring that no one was left without a place to stay for the night. The rooms were spotless, the beds were comfortable, and the A/C worked wonderfully. I particularly enjoyed the outdoor showers and the inviting common areas, which were ideal for connecting with fellow travelers. The hostel offers female-only dorms, mixed dorms, and private rooms, making it a social hub suitable for various types of guests. I really enjoyed my time at Waypoint! It's a very social place, the beds are cozy, the bathrooms are spotless, the staff is welcoming, and the food is delicious. They also offer activities and yoga classes on the rooftop, which is a nice touch. It truly covers all the bases. After traveling for 8 months and staying in numerous hostels, Waypoint stood out as my favorite. I intended to stay for 3-4 days but ended up extending my visit to 10! I highly recommend checking it out if you're nearby!

After backpacking for 8.5 months, I can confidently say this is the best hostel we've stayed at among the many we've visited. The communal areas are really welcoming, and the atmosphere is very social. The rooms and bathrooms are exceptionally clean and comfortable. Joe, the owner, is fantastic and incredibly helpful. We spent a week here but could easily extend our stay if we didn’t have a flight to catch. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to surf, relax, or meet wonderful people. It's also centrally located.
