Great location with minor cleaning issues

This apartment boasts a prime location right in the city center, situated on the 2nd floor which helps keep noise levels down. I’ve stayed here twice; during my first visit, the cleaning wasn't very thorough, but my second experience showed significant improvement in cleanliness. The bedroom and bathroom are generously sized, and the room includes a kettle with tea. I never interacted with the manager in person; all communication was through WhatsApp, and he was quick to reply whenever I needed assistance. It might be nice to have a blanket or sheet available, as I found myself without one.

Nightmare stay with numerous issues

Our experience in Sri Lanka was the worst we've had. Upon arrival, no one was there to greet us; we had to rely on the staff from the supermarket next door to let us in. Once inside, we were faced with—I'm not exaggerating—HUNDREDS of mosquitoes and no mosquito net in sight! The mattress cover was dirty, there were no sheets (we had to use towels to sleep), and the floor was filthy and black. We spent an hour battling mosquitoes with coils and palo santo. To make matters worse, there was a persistent urine smell coming from the bathroom. Additionally, the noise from horns and cars outside was constant, from 5 am until midnight. It was truly a nightmare for three days! I’m giving it 2 stars only because when we contacted the owner, they did change the mattress cover, provided us with towels, and did a quick cleaning of the floor, but overall, it was a very disappointing experience. I highly do not recommend this place.

Clean and Affordable Stay

Wonderful spot. The host is very welcoming. I strongly suggest this place for those seeking a tidy and budget-friendly accommodation close to the city. The rooms come fully equipped with everything you need. I would definitely return during my next visit to Ratnapura.

Disappointing arrival experience

Choosing to stay here turned out to be the least favorable choice of my journey. From the outset, the professionalism and safety were alarmingly lacking. When I arrived, the owner was absent, and instead, I was welcomed by a friend of his who was smoking a joint.

Great stay with thoughtful service

I spent a week at this hotel and found the owner to be extremely kind. He upgraded me to an air-conditioned room, offered fast Wi-Fi, and provided several bottles of mineral water and soap. I was particularly fond of their handmade soap, which had a lovely fragrance. The room itself was cozy and clean. It felt quiet and secure at night, and the location was fantastic. There's a restaurant on-site that serves delicious food. I highly recommend it.
