Disappointing Experience at Walawwa Resort

Avoid this place! The owner is cruel! I had a very disappointing experience at Walawwa Resort in Kurunegala. I booked a day package room for LKR 4000 with my girlfriend, hoping for a relaxing time since we've visited before. However, upon arrival, the room was in terrible shape—dirty, unhygienic, and clearly not well-maintained. This was already upsetting, and I will be uploading photos as evidence. Less than an hour after we got there, we received an urgent call that her mother had been hospitalized, and we needed to leave right away. I explained the situation to the owner and politely requested at least a partial refund since we couldn't use the room effectively. Despite being regular customers and the emergency situation, our request was completely denied without any consideration. I get that businesses have policies, but basic cleanliness and customer care should be a given. The lack of hygiene, coupled with the management's total lack of empathy, made this a very negative experience. I cannot recommend this place to anyone. Please steer clear of it at all costs—especially if you value cleanliness, fairness, or any understanding in unexpected situations.

Convenient Location and Clean Rooms

The rooms are spotless, and the service is top-notch. What stands out most for me is the accessibility. Walawwa is located very close to the Kurunegala Expressway interchange and the city of Kurunegala. You can easily reach both places in just five minutes.

Great transit spot for business travelers

This is a perfect location for business travelers heading to Kandy, Dambulla, or further. While meals aren't offered on-site, it's not a significant concern because there are plenty of dining options in the vicinity.
